Dis anyone here knoe anything about the true identity of Gogo or hie/she just simply Gogo? I guess I could undertsnad Leo or Setzer's friend but Adlai E.Stevenson, were did that come from?

I believe it was their intention that he remained a mystery and he really has no significance in the story and very little characterization. He simply is just Gogo. =] Apparently he also appears as a boss in FFV. That's all I really know.

I like to believe that Gogo is Emperor Gestahl in disguise. It gives Gogo a character, and makes s/he seem less...random and unnecessary.

His/Her identity is a mystery to us all. But I realy like to hear theories as to who he/she is.

Some people say that it is Daryl, Setzers companion that died in the airship race around the world.

Some people think it is Shadows freind Baram.

Some people say that it is either Biggs or Wedge (though I don't particulary believe this).

Some say it is Vargas, Mt. Koltz person, son of Duncan.

Some say it is Gestahl, bitter about his defeat by Kefka, and wanting to get back at him.

Some say it is the real leader of the band of thieves that Edgar impersonated. The theives state that their leader was swallowed by a giant worm.

Some say that he is Banon, as we never see him in the WoR, and he may have hit his head, turned insane etc...

Some have said that it is the dimension hoppping character of Gilgamesh from FF5.

Or perhaps that the FF5 Gogo himself hopped through the void and ended up in the FF6 world, where he was subsequantly swallowed by the giant worm, the Zone Eater.

Perhaps the most interesting theory is that Gogo is Ziegfried, the swordsman. When the party first meet him on the Phantom Train, he is very weak. When you meet him towards the end of the game in the Dragonsneck Colliseum (in which he is shown to be much stronger) he states how someone had been impersonating him.. Perhaps as Gogo is a mimic, it was he who had pretended to be him?

The claim that senator Adlai Stevenson is Gogo though was an elaborate internet hoax. The quotes were mostly made up, and the facts twisted as part of a joke that went too far.

So realy, Gogo is a very interesting character, in that the makers of FF6 never reveal his identity, but also set so many different characters up as being possible. It's very clever, as we are left wondering who it may realy be.

I don't beleive they just shoved him in randomly anymore (I used to), I think he has much more to do with it all.

Just a cameo holdover appearance Easter egg character who started in FFV. The male Mime Job Class in FFT also resembles the two Gogos. Just another character like the Cids, basically.

I prefer this one...

I find things like "it's gesthal" or "it's vargas" somewhat unlikely, because I doubt they'd team up with you. It's possible Gogo is the same Gogo in FFV. When he leaves, he casts Banish on himself, thus throwing himself in an interdimensional portal. He could have ended up in the world of FFVI.

That's the most likely one, arebeit the most boring one. They never said their leader wasn't a Mimic afterall.

Edit: Now that I think about it, didn't they say that their leader was eaten by one of the sandworms that tunnelled into Figaro Castle?

I dislike theory of Gogo being Emperor Gestahl. He is just too backstabbing man who won´t just have suddenly change of heart. And hey when Kefka is defeated, then guess who then would trying to rule world once agan.

I like Siegfried/Boss Bandit/ Daryl/ Gogo theories. I have always wondered what our good friend Siegfried says about someone impersonating him. Maybe it was our good friend Gogo. Boss Bandit sounds cool, but it was Figaro sand worm who ate him but who knows if that worm somehow ended up on triangle island.

Daryl is nice one too but I would like to have Daryl as separate playable character rather than having her disguised.

Gogo is interesting character and it is nice that everyone can decide who s/he really is. I wouldn´t be surprised if SE revealed him to be Sephiroth since they love to overuse Sephiroth.

i agree with the idea of intentionally having very vague things happen to people and reusing names throughout the games. Alot of the Cid's are capable of being the same guy at different ages despite the fact that most final fantasies aren't even of the same world.

But it's the very nature of the randomness of triangle island that makes it so fascinating. And the fact that you never REALLY find out what happens to Emperor Gestahl OR Daryle (im pretty sure she isn't actually at her gravesite, but i could me mistaken) Almost any theory can be backed up in some way.

Although I gotta say Leo is the least likely. Not that Gogo really is anyone in particular, its just there are close to no ways to justify him being Leo

Agreed. Leo is a character you actually see die, and bury. Unless he is a zombie, I can't see him turning into Gogo.

As for Daryl.. I can't remember seeing a body in her tomb, but I can't be sure, I'll have to keep an eye out for it when I go throguh my second play through which I plan to do this year. If you don't see the body, then I guess it could be even more possible that Daryl is Gogo, but like you say you could back any theory up with evidence, thus is the awesomeness of Gogo.

About the bandit leader sandworm theory, yeah I guess it is possible that the sandworm travelled to somewhere, that became Triangle island in the WoR.

i like the daryl and banon theories. when i play through the game i pretend its one of them. i dont say this decisively, its just what i like to imagine. i think the creators made gogo so enigmatic so you could let your imagination run wild ;-)

They were talking about Gerad (Edgar) when they supposed that their leader was eaten by the worms (because he had "disappeared" [more like they were lazy with their looking for him, really] after the battle).

I don't think Gogo has a definitive hint as to their identity in the game. Just a random add-on to the game. I kind of like to think they're Daryl though :P

I always assumed this as well. The theories about General Leo etc. are interesting but have no significant relevance. Many of them seem to stem from interest or attachment to characters, much like the "reviving Aeris" rumor.

I'm guessing that Gogo is some random character that the party so happens to meet along the way (Should the player be adventurous enough to find him...)

After all, his theme song is kind of... Interesting? I think i like his theme best in comparison to the rest of the cast in this series.

What? Terra, Celes, Cyan, Shadow & Relm all have awesome theme songs! I don't even remember Gogo's...was it good?

Try this.

It's ok. Catchy, crazy and fun. Not the best though. Terra's theme will always be my favourite.

First off, I think they only put in Gogo so they could have nine main character in the game as well as part of the ending (if you get him) where they need his mimic skills to get out of the tower, second I don't think Gogo is Shadows friend, or Shadow (if you can get him back) would most likely know it's him.

As far as I know, they was going to add that to the game, but they ran out of time so they left her dead.
