There's something that's been bugging me for quite some time, and I feel that I must vent for a moment.
Square showed us this... "Technical Demo for The PS3" knowing good and damn well what the publics reaction would be. Fanboys worldwide had a unified global orgasm and the remake rumors started flying.
So here's the question. Square KNEW this was going to happen and yet time after time they deny all knowledge or possibility of a remake. So... WHY in the hell did they even bother showing this "Technical Demo for PS3"?
They do seem to be stretching it thin and milking the franchise a bit but only Final Fantasy VII. Why not VIII or IX...? Although some of you may or may not know that VII is incomplete. Square had pushed the deadline for the game too much and the demand for the game was too high so Square threw the game game together the best they could and got it on store shelves. So technically speaking this could be Square's chance to redeem what was lost in translation with a remake. So it's possible that them denying a remake could be a ploy to keep the public from demanding the games release sooner rather than later. It's just a thought. The spin-offs could be deemed as the "lost content", but I highly doubt stories based on other characters from the VII universe could hardly be considered "lost content". I don't know really, but again it's just a thought. I don't want to sound so... "fanboyish", but it just pisses me off that if they didn't have plans on remaking the damn game, than why did they even bother showing the "Technical Demo for PS3"? There were MANY... MANY other titles they could have previewed at that conference back then.
So anyways don't start flaming because that's not what this thread is about. It's just a dicussion. So discuss it like mature people.
