Not entirely sure where to post this, it might be more suited for a debate section, but w/e. Here goes.

1. I'm goddamn sick of all these nonconformist teenagers and college students whining and complaining about current society and how things would be better if we went back to an agrarian society or a bartering/trading system where salt and livestock were used as currency. Go away with your stupid anarcho-primitivism, living in the fields philosophizing all day or trying to find new ways to use manufactured goods to not be "sheep." Well you know what? I'm damn happy being a "sheep", it's convenient and comfortable and enjoyable. I know teens usually go through a spell where they'd rather philosophize about how everything sucks and think the world's problems could be solved by being primitive, but when the hell did it become so popular and widespread?

2. I'm tired of seeing all these people running around with Eurocunt mindsets. You know, the whole "America r bad, all Americans r stupid, warmongering, fat hicks." We're not. I know President Bush is a complete idiot, but hell, even he isn't a warmonger. He's just being manipulated, his sheer idiocy is what makes him such a great pawn for Cheney and contractors out to profit from war. Some countries (like the Muslim ones) think America is bad for it's decadence, we have excessive food and throw around money like it's nothing, etc. Be that as it may, we're not a bad country, we're not evil, and all things considered, America kicks the ass of alot of other countries. It's a pretty nice place to live.

3. All this political correctness and uber sensitivity makes me sick. OH NOES! Be careful you don't make a race joke or call someone overweight, you might offend them and hurt their feelings, and lord knows thats the worst crime you can commit! Seriously, people tread on eggshells because they're afraid they might hurt some little pussy's feelings. What the hell happened to growing a pair and not letting it bother you? And the entire hypocrisy of the racial thing drives me insane. It's perfectly acceptable for a Jew or black or Mexican or homosexual to make fun of other races or demographics, but when a white person makes a simple joke, they're immediately branded as a racist and will likely get their ass beat. Buncha damned hypocrites use it as a leverage point, where else would they get their lawsuits?

Are you serious? I've never heard young people saying that, but it sounds rubbish to me. Sounds something that a hippy would say. Heh try living in a an Amish community.

The problem is with that is the way American Media is shown and expressed. From what I heard in other countries most news is American news. As an American I find that to be rather ridiculous. Major news is fine such as 9/11 but even major news should have a certain limit. Anyways, I don't see why the world should care about our election. Briefly mentioned on the news is fine but not push on non-Americans. That's why most of the world dislikes us. America this, America that, here's more American products! I don't blame why non-Americans dislike us. Americans then to push themselves on the world. It also could be pure jealously since were a world power.

In my opinion, some people just need to grow some balls and deal with it. Sure, words are hurtful but you just need to deal with it. A random person in public could say something offensive, and you probably don't know anything about who is he/she. A person could say it out of anger, just to be a jerk, or just having a bad day. We've all been offended but you just need to move on and forget about it.

My friends make fun of each other all of the time. If you get offended then basically your a pussy. =/ If someone called me a spic I would say: "Yeah I'm Hispanic/Spanish, so what?" I have a black friend, I have a few Jewish friends, I have an Irish, a Italian friend, and a few German friends. Of course we joke about our nationalities and race, and we laugh about it. I could call Erythritol a nazi or a cracker and she wouldn't care.

The only thing holding me back from America is that anybody can own a gun, and well, sorry to be a little pussy, I honsetly dont really want to get shot be a gansta... But, saying that, I should still be scared, I live in an absolute hole, actually, most of the places around where I live are holes as well... wait, going off topic

Thats another reason. When I watch the news (A 15 year old watches the news, BLASPHEMY!!!) every 10 or so minutes, "now, in america, blah blah blah" and theeeeennnn, we get another 10 minutes of what some american popstar/famous person/model/who the hell cares did last night that was 'innapropiate' according to our grandparents. Sorry, not to offend anyone, BUT I HONESTLY COULDN'T GIVE A SHIT!!!

Meh, in one sense I can sort of understand the thing with the news. They wanna know if the next president is gonna be a jackass who does his own thing and invades other countries or not. But as for the invasion of American products and all that other stuff...yeah, that has some merit to it, I think Rammstein's song Amerika sums it up pretty well.

Hahaha, well you just kinda have to watch where you live. Most places are relatively safe, it's just bigger cities like Chicago or LA that you gotta be careful in.

Yeah. I haven't heard the teenager and 'sheep' thing either. xD
Maybe it's back East or something but over here it's all about political activism and taking part in the world. Maybe...a bit too much part in the world. >.>

3. All this political correctness and uber sensitivity makes me sick.

I don't know how bad that is in America, since I'm not American, but in Britain all the PC stuff is starting to smell a lot like bullshit. Did you know that children weren't allowed to play with conkers in one school incase they hurt themselves? Or allowed to play with skipping ropes incase they fell over? It's just ridiculous, children have to experiance pain somewhere down the line, trying to protect them from everything means that they're going to grow up to be pathetically afraid of pain.

Most schools have stopped doing a nativity play at Christmas time now too, incase it offends other religions, one woman was suspended at work for wearing a cross around her neck incase it offended other religions. These people who get "offended" by the slightest thing really do ruin it for the rest of us, pretty soon it'll be illegal to say Christmas incase it offends other religions.

Well, again America is one step ahead of Britain, I guess. It's already politically incorrect to say "Merry Christmas" but it's encouraged to say "Happy Holidays" over December, you know, in case it offends other religions. Which apparently it does since there've been protests or whatever else.

Actually, this political correctness is stuff is a pretty good topic. 8D

Unfortunately its pretty cool to blame america at the moment. People just go around saying Iraq war r bad. Therefore America r bad, and to be honest most of them dont know what the fuck they are talking about. A guy in history class said the other day "america should be shot" obviously he isnt the brightest guy, but some people agreed with him.
Also its very easy to blame america, people see that george bush is somewhat stupid and he is the person chosen to represent america.

Did you know that children weren't allowed to play with conkers in one school incase they hurt themselves? Or allowed to play with skipping ropes incase they fell over?
In NZ parents are even allowed to smack their children anymore, after a law was passed that made smacking a child a form of abuse. Some guy was arrested for slapping(softly) his child's arm, after the kid did something bad.

You go to a country what celebrates Christmas, deal with the fact that people will say Merry or Happy Christmas, and that we will do nativity plays, because it is something this pissing country has always done. If YOU cannot handle it, get the fuck out of our country. Why should we say Wintermas or whatever the pathetic term is now? I bet you wouldn't like it if we came over and had your seasonal greeting changed. Get a grip, deal with the country celebrates. This pisses me off so much it's not fucking funny at all.

Apparently some schools in England won't let their kids do mothers day cards now. Because 5% of kids dont have parents/mother. No offense pathetic headteachers, but how the fuck, do you think, these kids cope every single day of their lives? At birthdays? Holidays? School plays? Huh? HUH?! Sheesh - why suddenly stop now? I bet there have been times when we've done Mothers day cards before and some children havent had a mother then. Why now? Why change things? Ugh.

Heck, another ridiculous thing I heard a while ago was that a child could not have a Pirate themed party because in case it upset other people!

I'm sorry but, WTF X10000?! Good grief! This country is incredibly sucky, and not to be proud of all the time.

Well there was talk about banning christmas cards in the work place because it might offend other religions... Im not one for xmas but fuckinghell.....

Isn't ist not politically correct to sing baa baa black sheep aswel? HOW is that offensive ffs? :wacky: It's absolutely ridiculous over here atm, you can't breath without offending someone

My daughter made a fathers day card. Offended? No. Sarcastic comment aimed at said absent father maybe. I just gave it to my brother. I don't think she will ever care either, she will no doubt just enjoy making them in years to come like I did and give them to my brother or whoever. It's bleeding stupid -_-

Yeah I can't celebrate Mother's Day because I don't have a Mother, but it doesn't bother me in the least. I don't understand why people are so weak these days, but it gets on my nerves, too. I mean, even if someone said the 'n' word to me (I'm mulatto), I wouldn't be offended. It's just weird that so many words and phrases have been outlawed because of our 'advancing society'. But how advanced are we becoming if we have to limit our vocabulary so much just because of 'political correctness'?

In which case, we should all stomp around and complain about how we feel offended that we can't celebrate our 2000-year-old traditions. :wacky:

Society shall fall into a paradox until folk realise that they really need to get a grip, preferably of their necks, when it comes to such reactions.

Hrm. Well similar to that subject, it annoys me when black or Mexican (or any other race for that matter) say something offensively racial about their own race out of "defense".

For example, last year I worked at Meijer as a cashier. Well, one night I happened to be a Greeter, and it is part of the Greeter's job to check receipts before letting customers get out the usual "entry" door. So this black man tries to exit that way (yes it's allowed, although it's mainly for entry) and I politely stopped him and asked for his receipt since I saw him carrying a bag.

He then looked at me and said something like, "What, just because I'm black you're asking for my receipt in case I stole something?"

Good grief. I should be insulted, actually.

Oh, I hate when people play the race card. Whenever I do that, I always go, "yeah, it's because you're black. And by the way, Obama needs to get out of the election." Everytime I do that people get angry at me, but I don't care. If other people get to play the race card, I get to mock them for it.

But sometimes we do it jokingly at school, just for fun. I can understand that, but when you seriously try to use that as a defense, then it's just pathetic and uncalled for.

Haha, that reminds me of this one fatass otaku in my biology class. One day he says some completely idiotic statement about war has NEVER done America any good. Um, well 'scuse me, but WW2 is what got us out the Depression cuz it made so many new jobs. And it's obviously doing all the private contractors and munitions developers alot of good right now, thats half the reason why we're in Iraq to begin with, it gets them money.

Heck, another ridiculous thing I heard a while ago was that a child could not have a Pirate themed party because in case it upset other people!

Oh to hell with that, I'm gonna celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day if I damn well please to.

Isn't ist not politically correct to sing baa baa black sheep aswel? HOW is that offensive ffs? :wacky: It's absolutely ridiculous over here atm, you can't breath without offending someone

Black sheep = blacks
Wool = cotton
"Yessir, yessir" = "yes massa"

So it COULD be racist if you read enough into it....but for god's sake, it's a harmless nursery rhyme.

Oh, I hate when people play the race card. Whenever I do that, I always go, "yeah, it's because you're black. And by the way, Obama needs to get out of the election." Everytime I do that people get angry at me, but I don't care. If other people get to play the race card, I get to mock them for it.

Oh lord, you wanna talk about the race card you should look at this state. I remember about a year or two there was a story on the news about these two fatass black wimminz. They'd gone to a Cracker Barrel (nasty southern food restaurant) a few towns away, and so they get seated and order and everything. Well, this white couple at another table gets their food first...and the black wimminz said it was racist and decided to sue the restaurant. Did it occur to the black wimminz that the white people could have ordered first, or ordered food that was quicker to make? Probably. But blacks love to play the race card like that down here, it's even worse in Memphis.

Well, not to offend some of our young members, but my grandfather (may he rest in peace....such a stubborn old man...-_-) always said that teens hardly think out of their own shell, with opinions easily influenced by their selfish goals. Not saying that all teens are like that, it's just that I've met a few that actually, don't think and lack common sense.

Well that's their point of view, they have the right to think whatever they want. Of course, we, Americans (referring to everyone leaving in continent of America and not limiting it to USA Citizens only) can also do the same and think whatever they want of Europeans.

I also remember my teacher mentioning that Americans were hated by some people in Europe, which I consider stupid.

3. All this political correctness and uber sensitivity makes me sick. OH NOES! Be careful you don't make a race joke or call someone overweight, you might offend them and hurt their feelings, and lord knows thats the worst crime you can commit!
Treat others as you would like to be treated. Respect is the basis of a successful society. Sure we can joke, as long as no one takes it personal and as long as we know when enough, is enough. Still, you have a valid reason to state that opinion, and everyone here and everywhere should respect it.

Seriously, people tread on eggshells because they're afraid they might hurt some little pussy's feelings. What the hell happened to growing a pair and not letting it bother you?
Again, each human being is an individual and very different kind of world.
For example, if someone tells a person:

"Hey, your mother is a bitch and I hope she dies"

That person will probably be offended.

Or perhaps this example:

"X race deserves no right and are a bunch of idiots."

The people belonging to that race will be offended. Some might take it as a joke, others won't. It is up to our reasoning whether or not we should make comments like those above.

Well hypocrisy is indeed a serious flaw of human beings, and we all end up being hypocrites at some point of our lives. We are responsible for our actions, and we must all remember that each "action has an equal and opposite reaction" that might lead to a random outcome.

Oh I know they can think whatever they want, it just gets so tiresome seeing so much anti-American sentiment, especially in my own damn country. If you don't like Bush or the government, thats fine. I'll admit, most of our government is pretty corrupt, and I don't like it. But all these stupid faggy teens (especially the wapanese and hippies) whine about how our country just sucks balls and that they wish they lived in some other country and completely idolize every other country. Hate to break it to ya, but EVERY country is going to have its issues. It's that kind of uninformed, blatant hatred that pisses me off.

Respect is one thing, but people are too damn touchy and use the dumbest reasons to file for lawsuits and things of that nature. Like what about the term "retarded""? Perfectly legitimate word, it's been used for a long time. But suddenly that word has been deemed offensive and we have to say "special" or "challenged" and crap like that. Hell, even the Black Eyed Peas had to change their lyrics from "lets get retarded in here" to "lets get it started in here" on their song Lets Get Retarded (AKA Let's Get It Started) for the radio to play the song and for Walmart to even sell the album. Are they using the word retarded to insult mentally retarded people? No. But some pissed off mother of a retarded kid probably freaked out when she heard those lyrics and complained.

And I can't even make sense out of this, but in colleges it's now taboo to call classes "remedial." So my 0850 math course isn't remedial now, it's "developmental." Like wtf? Who decided "remedial" was offensive? I don't care what it's called, whenever people ask me what math I'm in I friggin tell them I'm in retard math. I could care less. Respect is fine and dandy, but people take things WAY to far and just don't know how to deal with stuff anymore. Before you know it someone will think up a way to be offended at the word "toast."

Again, each human being is an individual and very different kind of world.

You're misinterpreting my post. I don't think people should be given free reign to go around saying spiteful things. What I mean is that you have to check your ass before you even jokingly say something that has the possibility of being offensive. There are so many extreme restrictions on words. You can't call someone fat even if you're not saying it in a mean way, you have to say overweight or other cuter sounding words. And it just annoys the piss out of me that minorities are allowed to use racial terms, even in jest, but whites aren't. They treat us like the fucking devil.

And speaking of minorities...and I the only one who thinks it's completely backwards that the minorities have all the leverage in politics and things of that nature? Wtf happened to the majority rules? I'm not saying we should ignore their needs or anything like that, it's just that it seems minorities (be it racial or sexual) always manage to get their way in everything and they have to be allowed to win.

I mean, even if someone said the 'n' word to me (I'm mulatto), I wouldn't be offended.
me too, though im pretty pale.

all you crackers are as far as im concerned:neomon:
What fucks me off though is people coming along and saying hey you cant call him a ****** or etc.
Its like WTF? you are telling me what i can and cant say about people or what people can or cant say about me.
I dont encourage people to go around calling me a ******, but if they do im fine with it, but when people say im encouraging people to be racist, I just tell them to GTFO.

And speaking of minorities...and I the only one who thinks it's completely backwards that the minorities have all the leverage in politics and things of that nature? Exactly, we are so worried about offending minorities that we put ourselves out. Dont get me wrong im not anti-equality, but society tends to favour minorities so we dont offend them, because they are minorities.

He then looked at me and said something like, "What, just because I'm black you're asking for my receipt in case I stole something?"
There is another side to every story, there was a security guard a countdown that made me empty my pockets everytime i went there.
Im not blaming you, but it does happen.

The example Mitsuki and VR showed us it's just minorities abusing their own damn race. I have another example of this.

My boyfriend's aunt got divorced and she has three kids she needs to take care of. By the way, she lives in Texas and west Texas has a high Mexican population. She goes over to the welfare office to ask if she can get WIC for her kids. Note - She has no job right now, and three kids. The woman at the desk was, well, Mexican. She said: "No, your kids look too healthy." She argued with them and wouldn't give her any benefits. Apparently she was qualified for WIC.

I'll come back to this later.

So then the only war mongering idiot in America is Cheney--is that what you're saying?

Someone has recently reminded me of the 17-23% of people in America who still don't know where their country is on the world map, and that they still have the highest gun murder rate compared to other countries. I can't say having Bush for a president is exactly a dream either, and it's easy to judge any country by the person that controls it, and there are particular things about America that don't sound so great, but I never said it was the worst country ever. There are probably good things and bad things about it, but regardless of whatever you think of it, you have to accept America for the good and the bad. But how you take the "good" and the "bad" is entirely up to interpretation.

I'm well aware that not everyone in America is evil. But I don't care to sift through all of America to find the people that aren't.
