360 0r wii??

Ah, this is more of a general question regarding two systems, so I'll move this to Gold Saucer for you.

-Thread Moved-

And uh, sorry I can't really help you out on this. I don't have a 360 or Wii...

Well they aren't really comparable as they are both extremely different, so it would depend on the kind of consoles you already have. If you just want a playstation type thing then the 360 has more games and great graphics, whereas if you're looking for something different then the wii can be really fun, although there isn't as wide a selection in games.

I've had my XBox for a while and I'm quite happy with it. Its got a good selection of games. If you have a PS3, however, go for the Wii seeing as the PS3 and XBox 360 have a lot of the same games being released for both systems.

You don't need to own either console in order to figure out which is more worth the purchase.

The Wii has virtually no games worth buying outside of Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl (I've had a Wii since September and only have one game for the thing). Online play, though present in a few games, hasn't been fully embraced by Nintendo. The best feature the Wii has (NOT motion-sensing) is its downloadable content market. You can purchase the best games for the NES, SNES, N64, and a few other consoles, through download and play 'em on your Wii. Other than that, nothing has impressed me.

The Xbox 360, on the other hand, has a huge amount of great titles available and getting ready for release. Xbox Live is by far the best option for online gaming, and its online marketplace provides huge amounts of additional content for many 360 games. The achievement system adds extra incentive to play the games.

At the moment, I believe the Xbox 360 is FAR superior to the Wii. If for nothing else, then just for the game selection.

You do know about the new Tales of Symphonia game coming out for the Wii, right VoN? I dont have a Wii, so expect a knock on the door one of these days, cuz we gonna play some ToS! :D

I think the Wii has more famous game names associated with it, but at the moment the Xbox360 has the better selection of games. I've had my Wii since December 2006, and only have like...6 games for it =/ But the Wii is fun to play, but the game selection isn't too great.

It's pretty much the only game coming out for the Wii that I want. haha

Mario Kart Wii might be worth a look as well.

But hell yeah! I'll be playing the crap outta it, so come on down and get some ToS action with me, homie.

There will be no rest or food, though.

I agree, the Wii lacks the great game selection that other consoles have, limiting it only to games like Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (also available on Game Cube -_-), Super Smash Bros Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy. Nintendo needs to draw some of the bigger titles to their console, and try to fully use the Wii's gaming capabilities.

Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles was not bad, but it seemed like a copy of "House of the Dead"...:omg:

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption isn't a complete waste of time either. It's just far too linear and lacks the same exploration elements past Metroid games have had. The story is complete shit, too.

My Wii has been used to play Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past more than any Wii game.

I take that since you are on this forum, you are a big RPG fan, and in that aspect, the Xbox 360 is miles ahead of the Wii. The 360 has solid support from BioWare and Mistwalker, and Square Enix has a couple of games on the way for it as well. In spite of the Wii's success, Nintendo are still having the same problem which they've had for the last 2 generations. Noone seems horribly interested in making decent games for it apart from Nintendo themselves. I remember when the Wii was first revealed as Nintendo Revolution, and all the big guns in the Japanese gaming industry were eager to lavish praise upon it, yet none of them seem to follow up with any games for it.

Well no, but since I don't know anything about either consoles (or games from either one) since I don't plan to own either one anytime soon (if at all), then I personally believe it's best for me to refrain from giving him advice on the matter and leave it up to you guys. ;)

Great games, I had much enjoyment playing them a few years ago, well not a few, but many years ago.

Well I played Metroid Prime 1 and 2, and I still believe the first 1 was harder than Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. I might consider buying MP3: Corruption to see if it is better than MP2: Echoes. :neomon:

360 wins hands down. Better games, better online capabilities, and just generally more wanted by the older *die hard* gamers. The wii is awesome for multiplayer and "child" like games, and for the old fashion mario style type of gaming-like Super Smash and so forth-that we all love, but 360 just wins with it's more powerful system and game draw.

Yes, and because I noticed that the PS3 limits online playing to one person per console, at least in Call of Duty Games....which sucks...

+ 3 points for the X-Box 360

I'm going to avoid the whole comparison thing as if the Wii is meant to be similar to the 360 since that's just fucking stupid since they're meant to appeal to different markets. The Wii's biggest strength is that the first party titles like the Mario, Smash Bros, Metroid and Zelda games are as usual going to probably be a high standard as before. Coupled with the other nice looking and original titles like Zack + Wiki and No More Heroes as well as competent ports like Resi 4, Bully and Okami you have a decent selection to choose from if that's they're your thing and if you've not played them before.

There is a lot of party/shovelware games ranging from the good like WarioWare + Wii Sports to the complete shit that seems to make up a fair bit of the rest of the gaming catalogue but the Wii has basically been marketed out as a casual party machine of sorts rather than a hardcore console so that's to be expected to an extent. That's not to say that it won't have hardcore games as such but as said before there are a larger variety of titles out for the 360.

Now with the 360 it's kinda more of the same but a little better looking but with some of the genuine 360 exclusives like Halo 3 and Gears of War you'll probably not see anything particularly special. Halo 3 for example is as average as it can be. The main reason I haven't bought a 360 is because nothing that's out for it is either interesting enough for me to justify buying it in the first place or because it's coming out on the PS3 anyway or will be at a future date. Also looking at it recently I can get most of the best 360 games on the PC as well.

Really it just depends on what games appeal for you in the end but overall I'd consider the 360 a better choice the now out of the two.

It's close. Neither game impressed me a whole lot. The first Metroid Prime, on the other hand, is amaaaaaazing. Perhaps I'd like the other games more if I wasn't comparing them to the first game.

No I would agree with that view, the first MP game is far superior to the second. The second one just didn't have the same wow factor as the first and it kinda felt like a expansion in a way, there wasn't a whole lot new or interesting about it.

I actually spent a lot of time completing the first Metroi Prime, seriously I was somewhat addicted to it. I played it only once because after beating it for the first time, I didn't wanted to go all over again through ALL the quests...

But when it comes to MP2: Echoes, I actually played it twice, and it was not that much of a true challenge, not like MP:neomon:

Echoes was definitely easy in comparison to the first game. The Omega Space Pirate and Metroid Prime itself gave me troubles in MP. Metal Ridley was a tricky bugger, too. There were no such challenges in Echoes.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is on the same level as the second game in terms of difficulty. Getting used to the controls is probably the trickiest part of the game...
