I work with a guy who has a 99 Saxo the exact same colour as yours...

I've got a Ford Escort from 98, I think. Well it's actually my parents' but I'm on the insurance too. For now. :wacky:
It's done over 100k miles and has never had the gear box replaced, and it desperately needs it but my dad says it's fine. It's not bad as far as first cars go.

this ones got 80 thousand on it, it had to get a new clutch on it after it flew over a speed bump at a non speed bump friendly speed. It also has no exhaust from when my ex reversed it into a van and ripped the whole thing off -_-

he's such a prat

I will let you all know what my first car is when i eventually get around to buying one lol, what runs well ?

Generally you want something small and cheap to run and insure, like a Fiesta, Saxo, 106, 206, 306, Clio, Corsa. But buy the latter and I'll slap you.

lulz @ contributing to the topic like no other :neomon:

Anyhoo, my first car was an 87' Volvo. Terrible, terrible car. My dad got suckered into buying it from some douche who didn't take care of the car. The AC and heating didn't work in it, it only had a radio/cassette tape player (which eventually became spastic), the leather seats and even the dashboard were cracked. Oh, and it caught fire on me twice.

Once when I was driving home from class, some spark plug behind the ashtray (the spark plug panel was behind the ash tray...stupid idea, no?) caught fire and smoke filled up the front half of my car before I managed to pull over. The damn thing had actually melted and I couldn't even pull it out. The second time it was raining, and I was trying to leave the uni parking lot and when I turned on my windshield wipers, smoke started coming out from behind the steering wheel column. I turned the engine off before it became worse :wacky:

Mine was 1990 Toyota Camry. I loved that car. When I sold it for $500 a few years ago, it had 350,000 miles on it.

Great car.

Us guys to cost a lot more to insure, especially new drivers. I know it costs my dad about an extra £500 a year for me. Before then the insurance was only about £200. xD

Scooters are aweeeeeeesome! I'd totally drive a scooter instead of a car.

Well...I would if I didn't need to use the highways.

i think the insurance was so high because its one of those west coast boys, and it was 1.4 so I think that contributed a little, it cost my ex 1200 to insure it and he's 22

that scooter was well fast considering how small it was :wacky:

i used to blow all the chavs away on there shitty little peugeots, they's be gutted getting beaten by a girl with pigtails sticking out of the back of her helmet :monster:

It's probably also because Citroens are quite expensive to insure, and it depends on the other named drivers too. My dad's is so cheap because he has a perfect and extensive history. Which benefits me. =]

Well originally I was going to get a Mini Cooper, VW Jetta, or a Honda Accord. (My dad really dislikes used cars...) I didn't like either of them because they were too small. Also imagine an SUV slamming into a mini cooper. Ya... That wouldn't be fun. As for the Honda Accord, I actually liked it but my dad didn't like the 4 cylinder Accord because it didn't have much power. (Go figure!) I My first car is a 2006 VW Passat. I love it though! XD 6 CD changer ftw.

Quite wouldn't mind that. Rain would be a problem, but I could always wear a rain coat and hat, and wrap my stuff up in a bundle. And always brnig a brush for messy wind-blown hair. Plus, wouldn't have to worry about gas money, and if someone stole it, no such a big price.

And as for my first car, it will be a Nissan, which my parents are giving to me, seeing as it's theirs right now. I want to have a convertable though... they won't let me, 'cause yano, safety reasons.

I'd have preferred the Accord myself. They're pretty nice cars, definitely better than a Passat.

So what would your scooter be running off?

Well i'm not old enough to drove yet, but anyway i will be getting a jeep wrangler as my 1st car, and as soon as i turn 16 and 3 months i'm going to get my license so i can finally drive
