Hm... maybe it's just me, but let's so what all you guys think.

The older cartoons like Courage the Cowardly Dog, Tom and Jerry and such... they are SO much better then these silly new ones. Such as Phineus and Ferb, Captain Flaminga.... The graphics are horribly boxy and shoddy looking now-a-days... At least for most. Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Family Guy are among the few new cartoon types that I can stand.

I used to wake up for some of the older shows, but now that their gone, I have almost completely given up on TV.

I know their are ALOT of titles I'm missing for old and new, but I can't think of anymore at the moment. But for now, please tell me what you think.

Yes, the era of worth-watching cartoons seems to be ending. I had a few laughs while watching Courage The Cowardly Dog, mostly because my grandma has a dog, and she looks just like Muriel (the old lady).

Tom and Jerry is a classic, and it's among my favorites so far. The new cartoons seem to lack the essence of what a cartoon should be, and they are just lifeless carcasses, fail experiments attempting to be as good as the old school cartoons. :ffs:

Family Guy is acceptable :gmonster:

I've been saying for a long time that I feel sorry for kids these days for precisely this reason. Kids shows today are terrible, except a few like Spongebob and The Fairly Oddparents.

I miss things like Rocko's Modern Life, Angry Beavers, Doug and G.I. Joe. Also, I coulda sworn we already had a thread like this.

Im watching some bollocks called the bobinogs now -_-

They just don't compare to the cartoons of my yoof :monster:

Dungeons & Dragons, thundercats, he-man, she-ra, reboot, alvin & the chipmunks :wacky: trap door button moon....i could go on and on banana man..... i cant stop myself, i keep thinking of moar, super ted, rainbow brite!

Il stop now :wacky: But todays stuff is just shite compared, there are the odd few I like, like spongebob, but I can't really think of many o_O

Im getting de-ja-vu aswel :monster: Hah I used to love Doug lol

I used to love Dexter's Laboratory, X-Men, and Spider-Man. The Animated Adventures of Batman & Robin was good too.

Ahhh Man!!! Good times!!

Dexter's Lab was awesome, and the song that played during the ending credits was hilarious.

Uh, there is no song :wacky:

And the thundercats had the best song :monster:

There SHOULD be a song. It's Killer Tofu by The Beets. Your internets needs moar plugins.

Thundercats was so corny, I remember watching it on Toonami :wacky:

Ah, there IS A song and it made me jump coz Iwas just looking at the lard shizz in the background :wacky:

Thundercats was great -_- Altho admittedly, I was like in primary school when it was on but Im pretty sure Id still love it :monster:

Shit its on a loop *get off my internetz*

I grew up with Pinky & The Brain.
No kid today has a show even in the same galaxy as P&B in terms of intellectual comedy.

Pinky and Brain was just pure genius, really. Gotta love the silly shits. =]

Children's cartoons really aren't even what they should be anymore imho; they're not even silly. All they offer is some kind of redundant lesson repeated throughout almost any children's cartoons about friendship and virtue or some other shit like that.

I cherish the good old times when I was a kiddo, and got up at seven in the morning on a Saturday to watch Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs.

Today's cartoons blow chunks. The animation is all the same--cheap n' crappy.

I miss the good stuff like Ren & Stimpy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and He-Man.

By the power of Greyskull...I HAVE THE POWERRRRRRRRR!

Ah, good times there. I always kinda preferred TMNT, He-Man was just good for a lawl or two. Then again, some of the episodes of Ninja Turtles are so corny they're unbearable to watch.

Well...if I didn't have these kickass He-man action figures, I probably wouldn't remember the show as fondly as I do. :monster:

I remember the cat he rode around on...and Skeletor (sp). Skeletor is awesome.

I had that green cat toy and the turtles :monster: I just loved cartoon so much ( I have to admit to having carebears and my little pony aswel there lol)

I still have really old videos of care bears and my little pony from when I was a nipper :wacky:

So true. Prime example(s):

Spongebob Squarepants 2006-present
Fairly OddParents 2006-present
All other concoctions that include Dora the Explorer, Blues Clues (which turned particularly stupid after 2004-ish, and others of the same genre)...

...and He-Man.
:O

It's He-man!!! Oh, wow...it hit me all at once. I remember that theme song perfectly now.

What else is here?

Holy craaaaaaap...Inspector Gadget. I completely forgot about him. That's one awesome show.

I'm watching all of this for sure. I bet Johnny Quest is in there.

i loved inspector gadget :wacky:

and heathcliffe aswel, i was like nowai, i totally forgot that existed!

Its a shame thundercats and wackey races arent in there tho -_-

Oh man, I remember saturday mornings when I was a kid. That was the time saturday was actually great and had some fantastic cartoons on. I'd get up, early, and watch TV to like 1 or 2. Of course, this was back in the 80s. My little Poney, Ghost Busters, the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ( LoL ) Muppet Babies, Gummi Bears, The Bugs Bunny and Tweety show. Yeah, I even liked PeeWee's Play House. Ahem. Until it was taken off! Of course, that doesn't count as a cartoon. All of them were really fantastic, had great animation, and were entertaining to me. I look at saturday mornings, now, and it's sad. The junk kids watch now, it just seems soo empty and lifeless to me. I wish I could go back to that time. 80s = <3.

Ah, I remember watching Johnny Quest. xD Pretty good show. Mighty Max, Transformers, Bananas in Pajamas, Arthur, and a few more were my favorites.

But yes, I do agree that old cartoons are so much better than the crap that they have now.
