what was your biggest annoyance with this game.

for me it was the fact i spent 3 or 4 hours trying to find omega weapon. i found him right but he wouldnt move!!!!!

i soon found out that you have to accept the yaizmat hunt.

i almost crapped my pants (>_<)

The lack of a sense of character development in the game.

Agreed. Totally. Yet still, the gameplay was absolutely addictive.

I suppose I'll talk about something other than the characters though, 'cause that's such a commonly talked-about flaw.
...
Well, I can't find many other flaws with the game. The victory theme made me want to cover my ears. Haha. It sounded terrible.

Yeah, I agree. If I went back and played older FF games, I'd miss the new gameplay styles.

Also, the victory theme was great (in a bad way)! I burst out laughing whenever they start doing those cheesy poses to the music.

To me the biggest annoyance were both Nam and Ogir Yensa Sandsea and Pharos.

I kinda liked the victory music.

The fact that the NPC's bored me to death with their informations. Not interesting at all. In the previous series, some of the NPC's stuck to me as if they weren't just placed there for the sake of the game.

But in this game, I could not remember anything about any single NPC. =/

The lack of a sense of character development in the game.
That's the main component that FFXII lacked, sadly. Some of the characters were actually good, which makes it an even bigger shame. I think the only reason I played so far was because I desperately wanted to see some proper character interaction and development, but it just didn't come.

It never gets better? Damn, I'm only half-way (Mt. Bur-Omisace to be precise) through so I was expecting an improvement.

Damn, that's a shame. This is the first FF I've played in a long time that didn't have either an annoying character (Quinna in FFIX) or a character that seemed to contribute very little (Kimahri in FFX; although he's pretty cool). I was hoping the lack of communication etc was just due to it being a slow start, but I guess not.

Vaan's too generic for him to annoy me; his voice was aggravating at first but I got used to it. Penelo isn't seen enough to be annoying; she has like one word in a cut-scene and then doesn't speak for several hours.

The fact that you can miss certain sidequests. How was I supposed to know that Cactus Flower was needed for a sidequest?!?

man i was talking about gameplay wise. whatever. wow at least i know that we have alot of complainers on this forum

You should have clarified that in your initial post. And isn't the point of this thread to complain.

On topic, for me it was probably quickenings. I think I got maybe two good quickening chains throughout the whole game (I stopped using them eventually). I never seemed to get a lucky roll and I was terrible at executing them. It also didn't help that they used up all of your MP either.

Oh god, I hated that >_< It was the same way with the Bazaar weapons, like you would have to steal a specific item from a previous boss or hunt.

But overall, most annoying thing was the loot system. I didn't like having to chain for long periods of time just to get enough loot to sell for equipment or spells I needed. It's really, REALLY annoying killing the same type of monster for 30 minutes straight while trying to avoid other monsters and it just gets so mind-numbingly boring.

I loved the loot system! It made the game really easy, I thought, 'cause you could always find plenty of money with which to buy spells, weapons and armour. =] Mind you, if people love a challenge, that would have been irritating. Although, you could choose not to make it easy.

Biggest annoyance, boy I got a stuff that pisses me of about this game:

Vaan
Quickenings
Pennelo
Useless espers
annoying hard to get ultimate weapons like Zodiac Spear, Ribbon, Danjuro, etc
The fact that most magic outside of the Black and White spells is useless
Apart from Steal, Libra, charge and Telekenisis - all the other Techninks sucked
hard to spawn rare game and trophy monsters
Random chests
Frustrating drop/steal rate of items from monsters
The Great Crystal - lamest dungeon ever in any FF game

My Annoyances were...

- Vaan & Penelo.

- The quickenings... and the short amount of time in the mist-nack.

- Extremely boring character interaction. :doze:

- The dry and underdeveloped Occuria sub-plot.

- The Horse Sh** ending... (After the Bahamut).

That's all I can think of for now...

Wrong. Time Magic has one of the most ass-saving spells in the game: Warp. Hastega is pretty damn useful too. Arcane has Decoy, Bubble and Dispelga.

Right. Technicks were EXTREMELY useless. And Telekinesis wasn't even that good, it was stronger to just use magic.

THANK YOU! Finally someone agrees with me that the ending is utter shit rather than just "oh I thought it was fine." No, it wasn't fine. It's the most obvious tie-in to a sequel I've ever seen, it was practically screaming "BUY REVENANT WINGS BITCH! YOU ARE LOYAL SE CONSUMER!"

Pathetic final boss + pathetic ending = annoyed me
