Basically, i started FFIX again on my PS1. I'm only a few hours into the game but i've got EVERYTHING. I've not missed anything out. I've unlocked everything apart from some secret items in the mini-game skipping..

Anyway, how do i transfer PS1 saves to the PS3??? I know there is an adaptor, but on amazon, the reviews say it doesnt recognise PS1 saves !!

help:huh:

I'm pretty sure the console would take the PS1 memory card, and I honestly don't see why it wouldn't. If you can play a PS1 game, surely you can use the PS1 memory card.

However if you're trying to save onto a PS3 memory card, then I'm afraid your attempts will be indefinitely futile. Same goes for the PS2 memory card too.

Edit: This belongs in the Playstation section. *moved*

The PS3 has a hard-drive in it, just like a computer. It doesn't fit memory cards in it so i cant just put the PS1 memory card in the PS3. There are adaptors to transfer PS2 memory card saves onto the PS3 hard-drive, but i don't know how to get PS1 saves onto the PS3 hard drive.

Pardon my ignorance then.

However, it seems that like with the memory cards, the latter components wouldn't accept the data from an old game. If this adaptor does what it seems to, then just use that... but it seems you don't have one, so you're out of luck. :P

^^^

The PS3 does recogise the PS1 data and let you play normally...

As you rightly said, i just don't have the adaptor, but i'm checking if someone knows another way.

I meant in terms of save data.

As you rightly said, i just don't have the adaptor, but i'm checking if someone knows another way.
If they introduced an adaptor to serve the function it does, there would be no point in creating an alternative.

well you can create internal memory cards in the ps3 for ps1 and 2 games that is how i have been playing ff7 and 9 on my ps3 and there is an adaptor to put your saves on but i am not sure how you do it exactly...or where to find them

If they introduced an adaptor to serve the function it does, there would be no point in creating an alternative.

according to that logic why would they make two ways of copying and pasting data?

1) right click, copy + paste
2) highlight text and press ctrl+c and then paste with ctrl+v

There are normally alternatives to these type of things.

You say that the adaptor is for PS2 memory cards -> PS3 HDD right?
Well do the long-winded method, and save the data from your PS1 memory card to your PS2 memory card, and then from there, transfer it to the HDD. That is if you have access to a PS2...

dont have access to a PS2 but i'll see if my mate still has his PS2 and do that. good idea! thanks pooley

Well the PS1 memory card fits in the PS2, so I dont see why it wont fit in the PS3.

in the PS3 adaptor you mean?.. The PS3 doesnt have a memory slot, it has a hard-drive and USB ports like a PC.

It's not just a matter of fitting in, it's a matter of the memory card being recognised. Some people said it recognised PS2 cards but not PS1. So i am wondering if any PS3 owners on this site know what to do.

if not, i'll just buy it and hope
