arrgghhh iv seen a commercial and it looks like its almost time for europe saddest event ever the eurovision song contest,

this really must be the saddest show on the face of earth why oh why do they show it year after friggin year??????
 
I'm no fan of Eurovision, but in the end it is only a once a year thing. I just don't watch it (except last year, when it was hilarious seeing Lordi win). Eurovision is far easier to ignore than soap operas and reality shows all bloody year round anyway.

Would be improved though if they got acts like Daft Punk to be in it XD
 
It's always really crap songs that make it there, but I always watch it for the comedy value xD. I actually liked Hard Rock Hallelujah that won last year though :P. And of course, our entry this year is as bad as ever. Why didn't Justin Hawke get it? :sad:.
Or alternatively, why don't we get a good band (*coughArcticMonkeyscough* :P) to enter and maybe we could actually win?
 
arctic mokeys do eurovision...lol i would officialy lose all respect for them if they enetered this show. lol:P
 
It makes sense though. The only reason why it's always stupid crappy bands is because they don't get paid for it. I don't think Arctic Monkeys are that nig internatioanlly, and it could really help promote them. It worked for Lordi (sort of) and would definitely prove that it's all political if they didn't win.

My boyfriend went to see last years winners Lordi, said they are amazing. He loves them.

and i think its always crappy bands who enter cuz they think that sum big music guy is gonna watch and say 'shit' theyre good im gonna give them a contract:P
when the truth is their band is balls:D
 
yeah they could also make it more worldwide so it is no longer eurovision

i cant stand it because a kid in my school is utterly obsessed with it and i have to listen to his 'singing' and whinging and cheering and how he tries to keep it a secret that he likes eurovision even though the whole school knows

if they made eurovision more global i may accept it more (mainly if they had bands like gackt) i wonder what it would be called then
 
I have a Eurovision CD from 2005 when the girl from my country, Elena Paparizou, won.

Haven't watched any other ones though.

This years was a bit of a mix IMO. I thought Sweden's and Germany's entries were actually good, but the rest were awful (like always). Why the hell did Ukraine finish so high?????
 
mewand my girlfriend watched it just to laugh at the people,Serbia which was the winning country surely didnt deserve to win,it was horrible,especially if you wathed if,its not to bad on audio but seeing that weird gils sing while crouched infront of 10 backsinger hudling around her was very weird.

Though saying that the England Entry wasnt exactly better lol France and Sweeden where scary too!

though the ones i actually thuoght were alight were Finland and Germany.
 
i love eurovision (yes i know i have lost all self respect and wotnot for admitting that!!) i love to take the piss out of the really crap bands and yes that involves ours!!! i actually found a few that i liked and if you go one the website you can listen the entries that didnt make it past the semi finals. some of them are really good!!!

Eurovision fact = did you know that this year was the the first time in 10 years since katrina and the waves won it that the UK actually got 12 points.

EDIT: hated the winner!! i liked Finland, Sweden and Russia!!
 
The current Eurovision was a dissapointment and I actually thought that GB would leave with no points. Bt Terry Wogan said that when Apocolyptica came on, said that the person that made the dresses should been shot, as shuld have the girl in the pink dress. If I had to choose a favourite I would choose the Finland entry, that was cool. When...when I dare say wil GB bring in a rock band??? We wont as a friend said we are too hung up as a pop country. Monkeys in the ES would be cool, but what about Bullet, or Funeral for a Friend??
 
it was a dissapointment i agree. and that girl in the pick dress.... what was that all about??? it would have been better if they tortured her Live on air... that would have made eurovision much better!!!!
 
The word is that she's a well-known Finnish comedian, and that the whole 'I'm a member of the audience' thing was part of the set up. If she's a comedian, then the Fins have a severe lack of a sense of humour.
 
i agree! it was horrid to watch and if you were a member of the audience you wouldent be dressed up to look like your going to prom..
she even had the tiara
 
Ukraine was brilliant - they should have won for the sheer hilarity factor.

Slovenia and Russia were also excellent ^_^ as were Spain :-)lol: lisa) and Greece

Serbias singer looked like a Dyke....
 
I know that you liked Russia for a different reason though :P. They were just like Girls Aloud xD.
The swinger from Germany was actually good though. It's a shame that nobody likes Germany, otherwise he might've had a chance xD.

I think I've might've actually overplayed Ukraine's entry... the guys who SHOULD have won.
 
:lol: I've got a scar on my head from when I fell off my chair laughing at the Ukraine entry, and I banged my head on the desk >_<. Was it a man or a woman singing that?
