Look at the title. Ponder at it. Yes, it's straight to the point. FFXIV was objectively a flop upon release and excessive MANPOWER was thrown in to A Realm Reborn, which as nice as it looks, I can't help but feel it's yet another WoW child and destined to be nothing more than a small niche title. So you can stop blaming the FFXIII sequels for delaying your precious Versus now, because this was exactly the one thing you shouldn't blame Kitase and Toriyama for (they simply drafted in other people from outside the company to help, no doubt). And admit that I was right all along.

If you're still crying over your cereal as to potentially why we have not yet heard a peep from things like FFX HD, look no further. I am afraid that the main priority at the moment like I've constantly said, is in fact FFXIV 2.0, not the Lightning sequels.

"The unsuccessful launch of FFXIV caused a negative chain of events in other areas across the businesses. One notable example is the significant delay in the development of new HD games titles in Japan. As a result, our major releases of HD game titles use IPs previously developed by Eidos Interactive, and are sold mainly in Europe and North America," said Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada.

While it annoys me, I kind of see why they did it though from their point of view. FFXI has been the most financially successful Final Fantasy title to date. If they get FFXIV to catch on then they just made some serious cash.

XIV:ARR looks promising, that added manpower looks like it paid off. SE has a habit of inundating itself with huge project loads, so the delay isn't surprising.

Even if FFXIII-3 didn't delay versus or whatever it's still a big fat waste of money because no one wanted it in the first place.
I think FFXIV looks kinda fun, too bad it's an MMO.

"Gasp" thanks for being the mouth piece of the fanbase.

I agree. If an MMO is done properly, the retention can seriously help out the company in the long run. It makes sense that they would devote more man power to it.

To be honest im not worrried about it one bit. Ffx isnt my favorite though it would be nice to play it on vita and kh1.5 apparently is finishing up. All we have is ffx. LR seems to be releasing soon. Probably less than a year.

My problem is that it IS an MMO... I'm not too big on those... I like to play my main game but have the option to go to multiplayer to play with friends.
It might not be different to you, but it is to me...

I wonder how SE cant make a single PS2 port of FFX, come on ATLUS made P4G added tons of extra stuff and was released quite quicky, i dont think FFXIV to be the reason of FFX delay other than SE incompetence.

FFXIII and FFXIV doesnt make justice to the FF legacy. Off topic im trying to play XIII again but its hard, i have even a more easier time playing FF1 than this.

I know what youean but you dont have to play them all. If it was named differently would it make any difference?

Honestly? No. I need a BIG convincing from any MMO to be even remotely interested. Labeling it as FINAL FANTASY or any big franchise title does not mean much to me.
I want to see an MMO become something COMPLETELY different than what I am used to an MMO being. Granted, I have only played a little WoW and a LOT of Runescape (which WAS and IS SOMETIMES fun, but the slow leveling and not being able to do much without becoming a member kind of puts me off)
I want explosions and fireworks if you know what I mean...

You should try perfect world. The system is easy to understand but very artistic and its free. On another note, im not disapointed in MMOs. In early news i heard they wanted to put ff11 on vita. Hopefully ff14 could make it in if possible...
