Have become extremely emotionally attached to the characters and the storyline

Ah, but wouldn't it be interesting if their future games all returned to the past and delved a little more in the characters, worlds and histories we love?

I wouldn't want to see a game about Yuna or Tidus - as Phoenyx said, their story is complete - but a game about Braska, Auron and Jecht would be quite fantastic. Equally, I'd love to see the story of Shuyin and Lenne, perhaps in a movie. :hmmm: I love those characters almost as much as I love the main set in FFX! :ryan:

@amboxer21 Did you become emotionally invested in the story of Braska, Auron and Jecht?

FFVIII and IX deserve their own extra games and films too. I want to see more of Laguna! In regards to IX, bring back Steiner and Beatrice! Square could make a game about their personal history and Steiner's journey as a knight!

Indeed it would!

Everyone has made a valid point about Yuna and Tidus... Their story is complete. I loved their story so much though. I have to have more! There is a fan made novel/book on X-3. Yuna dies and Tidus starts a journey to find her killer. Some shady character is able to bring Yunna back but at the cost of Tidus bringing back Zanarkand. Which apparently he has the power to do. If he does so, then an evil will be unleashed once again. So, he must choose between the love of his life and keeping the eternal peace of Spira.

A movie about Yuna and Tidus' love story would be awesome! Definitely way better than twilight lol I hate that crappy movie series franchise! I don't know what everyone sees in it. Anywho....

@amboxer21 Did you become emotionally invested in the story of Braska, Auron and Jecht?
No, I did not become emotionally invested in Braska's story because I didn't get to play them or see much of them. Although, I will admit, it would be an awesome concept for X-3! The story of Jecht, Braska, and Sir Auron!! Who would be Tidus' equivalent though? The main character. I for one, think FFX deserves a 3 and a movie!!!!

FFVIII and IX deserve their own extra games and films too. I want to see more of Laguna! In regards to IX, bring back Steiner and Beatrice! Square could make a game about their personal history and Steiner's journey as a knight!
I own FF9 but have never played it. I have played to the middle of 8 but never finished. Am I missing out? lol

EDIT: I was thinking about how hard it would be for Tidus to make a decision like that; Between disturbing the ternal sleep he and Yuna worked so hard for and the love of his life. Think about how hard she worked to get him back. How hard they worked to achieve defeating sin for good. Either decision would ruin the other.

Just beat the game and it was not as sad as I thought it was going to be. Probably because I already knew what was going to happen. I am now kicking myself in the butt for googling the ending!!!!!! I really wish I didn't spoil it for myself! The experience could have been so much better!!!!!! It did bring tears to my eyes though!

You'll know next time you're playing a game not to give into the temptation to check. Whenever I play a new game I stay well away from any discussions or information about it so that I don't read a spoiler by mistake. If it makes you feel better about playing X-2 there are multiple endings for that game, so the ending you have seen might not be the one you actually get the first time you play it.

Yes, now I know better! I will forever regret it though! The only reason I am playing this is to see Yuna and Tidus get back together. The ending where he wakes up in the water and she jumps off the airship and they hug. That's the ending I am aiming for! Unless there is a better ending, then I am all ears.

That's the normal ending. There is a sad ending and there is a perfect ending. I won't say more than that :P

Awww man, no fair. That's such a tease lol The normal ending is all I am looking for. So I will continue to play all the way through and we'll see what happens after. Maybe I'll go for the perfect ending?! Without spoiling it for me, what's everyone's favorite ending to FFX-2?

The one where he comes back and hugs her is the good ending.

* There's the Bad Ending (which can be acheived through losing to a certain boss. Won't say what the ending actually is or who you have to lose to)

* There's the Sad Ending (which can be achieved by not doing everything required and hearing the whistle (pressing X) in the Farplane after the final battle. I won't say what this ending shows, but it's sad. lol)

* There's the Normal Ending (which everyone gets no matter what)

* There's the Good Ending (which you already saw. To achieve this ending you must fulfill all the requirements and press X after the final battle while walking through the Farplane to hear the whistle. You will then be asked question by the Fayth of Bahamut. If you chose the positive answer, wait until after the credits to get the Good Ending)

* And finally there's the Perfect Ending (which is achieved by completing the game 100%. It comes right after the Good Ending scene. So if you get 100% completion you will get this sequence: Normal Ending, Credits, Good Ending, Perfect Ending. Just warning you: even with a strategy guide you are not likely to get the Perfect Ending on your first playthrough. It took me three playthroughs to get 100%. For others it will take two playthroughs.)

And sorry to hear you spoiled the experience of the ending of X by looking it up. I didn't seem to have that problem when I played. I looked up what happened at the end of the game, and I knew it was coming, yet I stilled cried like a baby. lol. Just don't look up the other endings of X-2 until you play through it. If you don't feel like playing through a second time you can look up the Perfect Ending online. You wouldn't be the first one to do that. lol. Besides, you're not missing much with the Perfect Ending. The Good Ending should be referred to as the Perfect Ending in my opinion.

I never played the game because it seems like an abomination!! What the hell did they do to my Yuna!!! They made everyone dumb and they fucked up the whole purpose and emotion portrayed in the FFX! Anyway if I played it I would aim for the sad ending. Not everything ends, there are casualties and we just need to learn to deal with them, it seems the more realistic ending and the one thats fits best the whole point of FFX itself.

They saved the world, they learned the truth about their corrupted world. Tidus was just a product of an abomination for how good he may be! He is not real, he is a false reproduction of someone else yet we care so much for him but through the game's journey we learned that things dont always turn out the way we wanted them to. We had to accept the cruel fate but it was a lesson for our lifes, an inspiration and FF X-2 comes in and ruins every single thing we were taught, it disrespects the concepts and teachings voiced by the great journey that was X.

FFX-2 is inaccurate, its not realistic according to human standards. One thing its to develop a character another is to fuck it up for fan service purposes...... Fuck X-2 to damnation of mankind ( Im ranting about the story/character/world display of X-2 not its game mechanics).

I think to get the Sad Ending you must do everything you do to get the Good Ending but answer the fayth with the other (negative) choice. If you don't do everything required then the fayth doesn't appear and you just get the normal ending.

I don't think so, because I did a quick runthrough of FFX-2. It was a challenge I think. And I did NOT do the requirements of the Good Ending. I still hit X and the Fayth did not appear, instead the Sad Ending came up. If you give the Fayth a negative answer he says something like "I see" and then Yuna walks off. There is no Sad Ending.

The first time I played I had no idea about the endings and didn't do any of the requirements and all I got was the normal ending, the fayth didn't appear or anything because I didn't know about pressing x at certain times. So I know for certain that not doing any requirements means you only get the normal ending. I was curious once about what would happen if I chose the other answer to the fayth though and when I did I got the sad ending.

EDIT - just checked on wiki. We're both wrong. In order to get the sad ending you must not have reached 75% completion. If you haven't then you'll get the sad ending. It doesn't matter if you pressed X at certain times.

Are you sure? How long ago did you do that? Because if you watch the sad ending, the sequence is the exact same thing as if you were going to get the good ending....instead you don't get the fayth showing up, you just get the sad ending. Unless you can get the sad ending two ways.......but it would have to be different from any of the videos seen on youtube. Because then the beginning would be repeated. Does that make sense?

The beginning for both is Yuna walking in the Farplane, turning around after hearing the whistle twice....then either the Fayth appears OR The Sad Ending comes up. By choosing 'no' it would mean you trigger the sad ending and you would hear the whistles again? And Yuna turning around again? That wouldn't make sense.

Can you pm me and tell me what you saw exactly? I don't wanna spoil things for amboxer by having it posted in this thread. Because I'm trying to picture the sequence in my head and it makes no sense to me

No it's okay, I edited the post but you must not have seen it before replying. I checked on the FFwiki. I must have just remembered wrong, I figured since the first time I played I did nothing that the sad ending must have been from answering the fayth 'no' but it was a while ago hence why I wasn't remembering correctly. To get the sad ending it doesn't matter about pressing x or not at certain times, if you've got less than 75% you will get the sad ending. My first playthrough I must have had more than that, hence I got nothing but the normal ending - which was super dissapointing for my first time playing it. I was like - Where's my happy ending?! What?! I had to press X at wierd totally confusing points in the story? Riiiight...

So for Amboxer - to get the sad ending you need less than 75% completion at the end of the game :) but I'm guessing you won't be wanting that :P

Yeah, on my first play through I didn't know to press X....so Yuna just walks out of the Farplane and nothing happens. I got the Normal Ending, the credits rolled, and I waited for the Good Ending......and nothing happened. I started crying then too because I wanted a Happy ending XD

I'm such a cry baby.

It is such an odd way of doing things. They give absolutely no indication that we're meant to press X :( it's like they totally trolled all the first time players. I wish the perfect ending had been in CG though...that would have made it perfect. As it is I actually prefer the good ending.

Oh I agree, I wish they had some sort of hint to hit X. You really have idea to do it unless you were reading a walkthrough or found out from someone else. And the Perfect Ending should have been CG. Along with another event in the game. A certain two people reuniting. That should have been in CG too. Instead they gave us crappy PS1 quality graphics for their reunion. >.> If not CG, at least give them good in game graphics instead of the crappy models. Same with the scene right before 1000 words. They used the crappy looking graphics for Yuna and her lips didn't sync up at all to her little speech prior to the concert.

There's just so many things that bugged me about X-2. lol. I won't go any further on that.

I know. I mean, compared to the endings of FF games usually which are really long and in CG they gave us very little in the way of CG at the end of X-2 but I don't mind too much. Yuna's character change bugged me way more lol. I was like - who is this person? She doesn't even look like the same Yuna. Meh, I still love the game enough to go back and play it over and over again.

I'm confused! Why would anyone want the sad ending?? Lol I am playing to see Yuna bring Tidus back! Otherwise its kind of a boring game and I probably wouldn't play it. I hope I didn't offend anyone. If so, sorry.

So, what do I have to do to get the ending I am yearning for?
