XIII: Omega Weapon?

I'm yet to hear the appearance of an Omega Weapon in FFXIII.

Perhaps because of its linearity, I am yet to hear of the presence of this superboss, present in almost all FF's, other than as a weapon for Lightning.

Does anyone know anything about this, and if they really have left out this recurring superboss, what is your opinion?

I'm yet to hear anything other than the game's supposed linearity so no help here. I liked him in FFX, but I don't really care if Omega, Ultima, *insert recurring uber boss name here* makes it into the game, as long as there is a wealth of uber bosses. Maybe even go with an Alpha Weapon (you heard it here first)...

But yeah, the more uber bosses in this one the better. I'm a big fan. *points to sig*
 
I haven't heard anything either - but with the wealth of tough monsters to hunt down in the Pulse section of the game, it's possible there may be an Omega or Ultima lurking around somewhere.

I hope the names actually appear though because it would be a nice nod to the earlier games. Like in FFXII, I'd have rather they named Yiazmat after a Weapon.

Yiazmat's name is an amalgamation of a collegue of the game developers' who left Squeenix, so I guess they would have had to create another superboss or move the name to..Hell Wyrm?

Man that battle was taxing.. Anyway, it would be interesting to see a battle arena return (ff6 colosseum, ff7 battle square, ffx monster area).

Alas, Square have barely bothered with such 'trivialities' so none of that or card stadiums, chocobo races, etc... :cry:
 
There's definitely potential for it to appear, there was an interview with someone a week or so ago, I don't know whether it was Kitase or Toriyama but one of them said there's a good dozen or two of the optional mission bosses that are harder than the final boss so you never know. :neomon:
