all i liked about x2 were the dresspheres, that's it.

yeah...i voted for 12 because of the combat system...hack and slash is NOT final fantasy

I voted for X-2 because it wasn't really a FF game to me. I stopped playing after a matter of minuites; that's saying somthing huge to me.

Haha, i actually got through a good bit of X-2 and tried to stick with it, but two huge things prevented me from doing so:

1. that damn sudoku tournament...WORST. MINIGAME. EVAR.
2. took forever to gain exp and the only things that gave decent EXP i couldnt handle

Hack and slash....? Have you even played FFXII?

Actually, it is worse than hack 'n' slash since you are actually getting involved in the play of hack 'n' slash but I will admit that it isn't my favourite type of gameplay.
Anyway, back to FFXII. FFXII you can basically run around, levelling up without even pressing a button. I tried this and for about an hour or two all I had to do was move the analog while the AI would do the work and I would be reading forums. That sounds fun, doesn't it?

Dont get me wrong, I know FFXII isnt perfect, but it is far from hack and slash. And no that doesnt sound fun at all. I always turn gambits off on the character I'm using just so its a little more involving.

Final Fantasy XII is the biggest letdown of a game that I have ever seen.
1) Way too easy.
2) No story at all really... Vaan - "I'm just along for the ride." Some character...
3) I like to max my characters to 99... being level 60 at the end of this game... BLASPHEMY!

I would rather play Crystal Chronicles.

If anything, I found that some previous FF's had a bit of hack and slash action in it, most battles could be the same old routine, and that can't be denied - you would either summon, use a limit break, or attack/use magic in the same way. XII didn't rely heavily on just hack and slash. Don't use gambits, try different battle methods. Don't be lazy and leave them on Gambits all the time. I know characters will continue doing the same move, but, you can choose to cancel a move and do something else - how good is THAT? You can make an error, and then correct it!

Oh, you say FFXII is too easy? Go play X2. THAT was easy. You like to max your characters to level 99, even though you don't have to? You can complete X2 at level 45. Most FF games though can be completed at level 60 and below. I think I did the same with VII - I never do with VIII, I always overlevel. So, to complain about XII in that sense, is a little bit unfair. :P

Crystal Chronicles had far less of a story. Bah, humbug XD

Of course, this is an opinion thread but I have to agree with Rulia here. I don't see how this is a valid complaint. Leveling to 99 in any FF game usually requires a lot of training on the side. If you play them through, even with sidequests, you're lucky if you get to level 70 by the end of the game(VIII being an exception here). Least-ways, that's been my experience. ;)

The first time I played FFVII, I was level 96 when I fought Sephiroth. :D

But I still died. :'(

I'm going to say.... CC. It was really redundant and I really agree with previous stated comments about it. I mean, at least FFX-2 HAD a normal battle system that wasn't three times gayer than Michael Jackson. :monster:

You might consider my thoughts on it unfair, but I had really high hopes on XII, not so much on X-2. So really X-2 sucking doesn't bother me, in fact I really expected it to. But X-2 actually had a fun battle system. I also don't use gambits on XII... Leveling to 99 on that game would take me like 3 years. I'm working on maxing all 14 characters on VI, and it isn't going to take even half as long as it takes to reach level 70 on XII. Just my thoughts.

Guys this is a "Worst FF game" thread. Bashing is expected. Please no defending your favorite FF because someone else didn't like it. You can talk about how great your favorite game is in the "Best FF game" thread.

No, I meant Dirge of Cerberus AKA the crappy spinoff game that Square to milk every last cent from the Final Fantasy 7 fans.

1st - Dirge of Cerberus was kinda good..
2nd - If u owned Square u wouldnt milk ff7 for every pennie its worth because i know i would..

Anyways back to the subject i think the worst was x-2 by far..they shouldnt do a all girl ff which just 3 characters. The whole percentage thing was rather dumb and playin it a 2nd time almost made me suicidal!

I would have the sense to leave VII alone. And if any VII spinoff has the right to exist, it's only CC since it would actually contribute to VII's story by knowing more about Zack and knowing was Sephi was like before he went evil, although they went too far by including 31 bajillion one-winged Sephi clones.

Anyhoo, i'm fine with an all girl team, and 3 characters is perfectly fine because the dressphere take on the class system doesn't limit you. However, Yuna is a completely different person from X. And worse than that, the game relies on that idiot Brother for comic relief, plus the game is simply too bubbly and the mini-games are horrid (up for a massaging minigame, anyone? didn't think so) and the character design is just plain bad (Nooj looks like crap, for instance).

FFMQ=childish disgrace to the FF series. also FF2 sucked since there was no leveling and no classes. but its was clear which chars you'd want to give what.

Meh, I don’t really have a worst, so I’d have to go with the most boring… and the winner is FFI & II on the PSX. No explanation needed, I hope.

I would have put FFMQ, but I wanted to focus on the main FFs.

The worst: FFXII.

Why?

Because it symbolizes the destruction and fall of the FF dynasty. We went from turnbase bliss to hack'n'slash repeats. FF's future doesn't look too bright.

I would have to agree with you there, I really wish people would stop screwing with the RPG forumula. WTF is wrong with turn-based battles? Nothing! So I don't know why game developers and consumers treat turn-based like it's outdated crap. But I still love the Ivalice Alliance so I can't bring myself to entirely loathe XII.

My vote still remains with X-2, and I'm glad to see it's winning ^_^ X-2 is good as an RPG, but as a FF it's an utter disgrace.
