There aren't very many characters I don't like in the series, but I would have to say Yuna. Her flatline personality completely killed any empathy I might have had for her part in the story. I've always felt like the most significant part of FFX was Tidus's relationship with his father anyway, but if they wanted to include a romantic subplot, they should've given him someone a little more charismatic to play off of. Tidus himself did seem kind of airheaded on the outside, but the intermittent retrospective voiceovers they gave him sort of balanced him out, I thought.
As far as Vaan, I haven't quite finished FFXII yet, but I actually wasn't really bothered by his character. I think overall FFXII just didn't really develop any of the main party characters quite as much as it should have, except for maybe Ashe--I feel like I know just as much about a lot of the NPCs as the party members, and for someone like me who likes to care about the party members more, it's kind of disappointing. :/ Oh well.
I've heard some people saying they didn't like Kimahri either, but I actually thought he was one of the better characters in FFX. I think he and Auron were both wrongly placed in a game that didn't really allow them to shine as much as they could have, based on their personalities, backstories, & whatnot.
