Will this game be WIN?

What I mean by win is that will it surpass all other MMORPGS? I mean its exclusively on ps3. Its on Pc also but what I mean is if it is free do you think this game will become played until someone dies? Hehe. This game looks pretty damn awesome so far and if it is free Im gonna be on 24/7 and hopefully play with some friends on here. I can not wait but I hope it is FREE. The beta should be coming soon too.

There's no way in hell this monster of an MMORPG will be free, It'll probably be the same fee as XI Online. I am looking forward to it though and from what I've heard it looks to be a great game

Yeah, there is no possible way that XIV is going to be free.. But i don't think that it will surpass all the other MMORPGs either.. im sure the graphics will be beastly.. better than WoW hopefully... but there are still a lot of people out there that utterly hate FF. And as much as i want XIV to completely eliminate WoW, i just don't see it happening.

It really depends on who you are. If you really enjoy the online style of playing Final Fantasy games, and you got really addicted to Final Fantasy Eleven. Then the game should be win yes.

But if you don't really care much about online games and is going to ignore Final Fantasy XIV, then the game might be a "fail "

Though reckon if online lovers and people who don't online game or dislike the whole online of a online game are drawn towards Final Fantasy XIV then the game should become a win yes.

Though really dislike the whole idea of a online Final Fantasy and don't think that much Final Fantasy fans (expect those who enjoyed/ love online games + FF eleven ) are going to be drawn towards FF XIV.

Espically during a worldwide money recession.

Could be wrong. But think that XIV might be a major fail.

What you talking about? WoW's graphics are horrible. FF XIV won't completely surpass other MMORPG's. But, I'm sure it'll be up there, and maybe after it's been out for a while, it will surpass them. But, you never know until the game is released.

That's what i mean! The graphics better be better than WoW... yeah im sure it will be on the top 10 list of most played MMORPGs for a while... hopefully.

Yeah, I misread what you posted. I'm pretty sure they will be better though, I mean, even the trailer's graphics were better and were pretty cool looking. And I'm sure that on it's release, and the following months it'll be really popular for a while. It all depends on how long the game is, and how much content is put into it.

I'm going to hopefully buy it on the release date. It's always good to play a MMORPG from the start, you get a lot more out of it.

I honestly will have to see the gameplay and the type of game it will be.

FFXI was a huge success back in the day. There is a lot of speculation, but not enough pics and/or what not. This must have been kept under wraps to be honest.

I just don't know how good of a game this is if it has not had any public exposure.

Just look at WoW. That game is literally driven by the players and staff of the team. They adapt to the players basically, and then pick favorites and such.

SE on the other hand takes months to adapt. So I don't think this game will be as huge as people are making it out to be. I could be wrong, but we will see.

Also on a side note I played FFXI a lot back in the day. I got my character to 70 PLD, 37 whm, 42 blm, 25 mnk, 15 thf, 30 war, 37 brd - so I know a bit about the online atmosphere of the FF franchise.

I really hope they hit a home run with FFXIII though.

I don't know... Back when FFXI was announced, I was pretty excited for it, and I thought that it would be my very first MMORPG, but time went by and now I could hardly care less for it. I'm not sure what they can do for FFXIV to make it more appealing for me than FFXI is. Knowing SquareEnix, the graphics will have great improvement, but will it bring something that will make it better than FFXI?

I don't think I'll be getting it, since I'm saving my MMORPG virginity for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

That's just a rumour I'm afraid. Square has not yet announced anything about subscription fees.

Personally I'm not really sure about how good it will be or how well it will do. They say that they want to involve fans in the latter stages of development, but so far there still isn't an official forum or other sort of dialogue between Square and the fans. That I find a bit worrying really.

Another question mark that needs to be raised, is whether or not the beta will be worldwide and whether they will listen to input from non-Japanese fans. Making another MMO appealing mostly to the Japanese fans, would be foolish when the vast majority of MMO fans are in Europe, North America, and Korea. If FF XIV is going to be a success, they have to focus on those markets more so than they did with FF XI.

I believe Final Fantasy XIV will be a win, but I can't base this off of what I think about Final Fantasy XI, since I never played it. I hope that it won't have the subscription PlayOnline fee, because that was the only thing that stopped me from playing XI. I mean, I hope they go through and make it for XBOX 360 too. The money I paid for Xbox Live should be enough to play a game online.

Decision: WIN.

I would definitely play this game if the monthly fee was waived but I doubt I see that happening at all either.

I believe it's got the potential to pass FFXI though. I mean with about 6-8 years being between the 2 games initial release approximately, there's gotta be almost nothing BUT improvements. That's quite a long time to take a look at FFXI and see what the fan-favorites were, the goods, the bads, etc...

If FFXIV will be a win? hmmm im not sure what u mean by win... any MMORPG with the quality of FFXI or higher (WoW, guildwars, AoC, Aion etc) with good updates and free to play would be a win for u.

Now lets see how ppl would espect or critize FFXIV being a win or not in he future:

Win if FFXIV surpass WoW in accounts sells: it wont happen (im 99% sure of that but should be very happy if that 1% happens), ppl like WoW cuz its massive and ez to level, have alot PvP stuff and its related to warcraft in the end. Im sure FFXIV will beat AoC and Aion populations tho. Btw alot ppl already jumped from WoW to Aion (another WoW with better grahics and wings for ur player to fly...) and AoC, those who jumped to Aion will move to other MMO in a year (its almost a sure bet) and those who moved to AoC maybe stay there cuz its obviously they like the bloody things and doubt FFXIV gonna have that for em.

Win if FFXIV beats others in game graphics: 100% FFXIV is a win, WoW is out of racing with their ugly old graphics, saw Aion and AoC and they have better graphs then WoW and FFXI but still SE will pwn em.

Win if FFXIV have a better stroyline: 100% FFXIV is a win. Im sure SE will stun us with a cool story in ffxiv again, thing that doesnt care a bit in other MMORPGs even if they have it.

Win if FFXIV have a better gameplay system: hmm im going 80% win for FFXIV on that, im sure ppl is used to traditional WoW/Aion/AoC system, dunno if they would like the armory system or battle system from FFXIV that SE will bring to us, ik some ppl that didnt like FFXI only cuz they couldnt play it with the mouse... (dumb ppl), im giving 80% cuz i know there will be ppl btching bout how "stupid" (=innovate) the game system gonna be in FFXIV.

Win if the game gonna be ez to lvl: 0%... 80 IQ ppl will run back to WoW/Aion/AoC asap they realize they wont hit lvl20 after 1 week.

Win if have a good community: 100% win, dunno others MMORPGs but im sure SE will beat them all in this topic.

Meh it sounds like it gonna be a win right? but it wont happen, in the end ppl will just compare FFXIV population vs WoW and say: its a fail. Even offline FFs maniacs gonna btch bout how they never wanted a MOO-FF and how they cant say they couldnt beat all FFs cuz they dont want (=couldnt) to play FFXI and FFXIV.

As for me its a personal sure win that i will play asap.
