It should run fine. However, what sucks about FFXIV, is it's updater... The worst updater I've ever seen so far.

someone told me i needed to update my video card because the nvidia geforce 8600gt 512mb ddr3 card i have wont work. so i was not sure.

Actually, it turns out I was wrong.

Minimum: 512 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600 series / ATI Radeon HD 2900 series or equivalent

Your computer will not run FFXIV.

alright so i just need to update my video card and then i could play ffxiv.

I run a little lower than 2.9 and my FPS is fine.

 

[Vintage]

I run a nvidia 9500 and the game plays fairly ok for me the lower graphics cards on the nvidia simply makes your rendering of the scenes and enviroment slower as for playing the scene itself that is mostly on ram. My ram was a little off i run out 3.2 out of a possible four. But the game plays ok for me.
