Operation Michen i believe it was called. People from all over Spira gathered in an attempt to abolish sin from the world. They pummeled him with explosions, lightning bolt things and even sent in chocobo knights, but yet they never hurt him. However 7 people on a old al bhed ship manage to break off his limbs and force him to the ground using their swords and balls.
I mean really they should have done some damage at least yea?

Well, I see what you're saying but how Sin eventually died was not from the outside. They killed him from the inside because they realized he was too strong. But as for the large machina, I think it should've done SOME damage, but the chocobo knights shouldn't have. lol

Didn't he make some kind of shield around himself when the machina thing was attacking him?

Yeah he did as far as I know, they he uses it to kill them.:wacky:
And as for the topic itself I kinda agree but the Al Bhed at Operation M'i'hen went for a head on collision wheras the 'other 7' attacked it in stages. Alhough he could've just killed em outright that wouldn't have made a good ending would it?:wacky:

Bear in mind that Sin was fully protected against the Al Bhed technology by whatever matter his shield was made of. When Yuna and her Guardians faced Sin, remember that all of Spira had been singing the Hymn of the Fayth, which was proven to calm Sin - we are to presume that his defenses were lowered at this point. You could also go one step further and suggest that Jecht didn't want to be killed by anyone but Tidus and, so, didn't resist his efforts as much as he did with Operation: Mi'ihen.

I do think I remember them saying, at some point, that Jecht was making it easier for the party... Because he sort of wanted to be stopped, in a way. So he used his power to make Sin weaker from the inside so that they could enter and end it all.

That added to the Hymn of the Faith meant that Sin was a lot weaker than he was during Operation Mihen, where it had a massive barrier that blocked out nearly all attacks, and was essentially invincible.

The Hymn of the Faith was the only time that Jecht had any control over himself as sin. Because he wanted to die, and the Hymn was being sung, he allowed Tidus and co to beat him.
I think that what it comes down to is that the Machina simply wasn't powerful enough to defeat sin. The only way for sin to die, excluding the final aeon, is for sin to let itself be killed.

Thats a very plausible explanation. Jecht needed Tidus to know the truth about dream Zanarkand etc, therefore he had to make sure that he was the one to defeat him, I can agree with that.

Well if Wakka said on Besaid ain't all bullshit, Sin was ment' to be there because they used Machina (too much or something)...So that would mean like he would have some Machina sheild thing. :wacky:
Well that's what I think atleast :gasp:.

This is a very good explanation. But, also remember that when Tidus and party were attacking Sin on the airship, they hit his "weak" points on his arms. I don't think the al bhed were aiming for those spots. =p.

So, It's what Solidor said and the fact that they knew were his weak spots were.

Sin wasnt there because they used machina, its in Spira because the summoners, summoned it to fight against the machina of Bevelle.
I just think if they put more fire power into their guns, maybe a few atom bombs lol they could blow him to smithereens. Although that would fook with the storyline a tad.
