To me, he was more of a guider and a teacher than a lecturer....does anyone think he was more of a lectuerer and why?

hmmm... not really. i think he just wanted to share his knowledge, being a gaurdian for braska...
Agreed, Auron hardly ever lectured, in fact, when they gang wanted information he usually said "find out for yourself". Auron is cool. Thats all there is to it.

FF freak, surprising, eh?
Auron represented the need for philosophy and independent thinking in society. By making others find out for themselves, he is encouraging them to base their opinion on life experience. That is the only way people can truly learn a lesson, lectures can't come close to that.
But he didn't even teach, he had a mission. The rest could rely on him for his support, not his knowledge, that's what Auron was about.

I'd say...he was wise, but kept the knowledge to himself. He'd say things like "this is your story" He guarded, guided and knew what to do. Not a lecturer
Did I find Auron too lecturing? No… I always viewed him as a wise and knowledgeable guardian (lol, a guardian’s consultant if you will). He was a master of his abilities, confident in his knowledge and only offered his advice when it was needed. The best character in FFX, in my opinion…
Without a doubt, FF Fan. Almost as cool as Vincent Valentine.... perhaps even cooler.
I love the knowledge Auron had to offer. He was one of the greatest FF characters ever created.

Auron: Wizened, Middle-Aged, Undead, Long Red Flowing robes, Ronin, One-eyed.
Vincent: Young, Heartbroken, Quite, Mysterious, Red Cape, Golden Hand and uses guns.
Obviously they're just obvious observations but still..

The mans been wise and seen some stuf that needs passing on. I see him more as a wise man then a lecturer. e knew stuff that Tidus and co clearly didnt.
He seemed to more like a man who wanted to share his knowledge before passing(dying).
He is one of my favourite FF characters so far because he is tough and I like his fighting style( the katana on his shoulder). And of course a cool background and personality.

indeed he did have knowledge beyond his years, since he was dead and all. anyway, i think a lecture is more of an annoying thing, but it didnt seem that the group was annoyed by him, more like in awe.

He was a leader, a guide, and a man who has experienced enough and gone down enough of the wrong roads to say that you can learn from your past but it will be a very hard, painful, and difficult way.
But "too lecturing"? Sheesh. People these days need to learn to have more patience. Words from the elderly, the wisdom they speak may not be the most exciting, but I bet Auron's "lectures" saved the party's ass on more than a dozen occasions in the game.

Auron reminds me of a war veteran who as already seen too much during his life time.
And instead of getting crazy and blame the Guado who migth correspond to Spiras Middle East people for his troubles, he decides to pass along his knowledge to the younger generation.

I'd never even think of Auron as a lecturer. As said, he provided some insight to the truth, and gave philosophical reasoning. He knew, yet kept quiet. He allowed the others to find out things for themselves, explaining what they could not link or justify.
I agree he had some similarities with Vincent Valentine. Especially the voice.

I'd also say Auron was mysterious. He hid a fair few things during the course of the story. Information about Sin, about the unsent, about Yunaleska. And he knew about Tidus, too.
