I warned of possible spoilers, but I guess I'll black all this out anyway just to be safe.

Alright, so I was thinking about how Yunalesca creates the aeon for the Final Summonings. Well, who creates the other aeons, that all summoners can call? Were these all created from Yu Yevon in the Zanarkand of the past? Or, are some of the aeons made from more recent people in the time of the Yevon religion as Spira knows it? I was reading a thread about Anima, if she was a Final Summon or not, and the question was because of the scene from the past that we see in Zanarkand, just before she is made into an aeon. Either way, it got me wondering who actually creates the aeons.

Also, where did Yunalesca get the power to create the Final Summoning? Wasn't Lord Zaon her Final Summon, the very first one? So did she create him, or was that possibly Yu Yevon's creation, or what? Or did Zaon become the first aeon to complete Sin?

I guess I've always been a bit confused about that whole timeline and the creation of Sin, no matter how many times I've beaten the game!

I think the aeons may have been like original zanarkand folk - perhaps final surviving summoners who decided to sacrifice themselves for it?

The Aeons were the original Fayth. the very first of Zanarkand, but of the highest order. the lower fayth were what created the "Dreamworld."

But doesn't Bahamut say that "we're" tired of dreaming? Meaning, he was dreaming, too? So, I don't think it's just the Fayth in the Fayth Scar that are dreaming DZ. I never really saw there being a pecking order or anything to the aeons.

You don't need to "see it", you should know it. It's a religous order.

I suppose to be more specific, The Aeons are the ones who attempted to defend the city from Sin and Yu Yevon. They failed so they retreated and "slept".

:hmmm: I'm alittle hazy on the subject myself, it's my interpretation of what i think went down.

Thanks for the replies, btw.

By "I never saw the aeons as having a pecking order," I didn't mean I didn't physically see proof in the game... I just meant that I personally never believed that to be the case.

The bit about the Fayth being the people who defended Zanarkand makes sense. But I'm still confused on all of my other questions, like who made them into the "sleeping" Fayth, I guess, and who made the "higher order" (summonable) aeons into what they are...and all the other ones in the OP.

This is gonna sound contradicting, i know but in the game, they say that Yu Yevon made then into the sleeping gods set in stone. :ffs:

....that made my previous posts pointless...

Haha okay, so Yu Yevon was the one who trapped them in the stone? I'd imagine as part of his initial effort to create the DZ, if that's what he was doing? Alright. So would it be safe to say that Yu Yevon was also the creator of all the aeons? Even if this is so, how did Yunalesca create the Final Summonings, which are way more powerful than any of Yu Yevon's creations?

Edit: Actually, stuff's coming back to me...I think when I first got to that part of the game, in the Fayth Scar, I always assumed that the people, the Fayth, trapped in the stone were actually the people from Zanarkand, and each one was responsible for dreaming of themselves. So, I guess I assumed maybe the real Tidus was sleeping somewhere among all of those people. If this is true, then the ending of X-2 would make a lot more sense,
that perhaps the Fayth simply used pyreflies to resurrect the actual Tidus? And he would have the memories because he would have been dreaming things, maybe? Ahhh I dunno.
Off-topic, anyway.

The Fayth found the pyreflies that contained Tidus's memories and i guess you can say 'reconstructed' him using said memories.

So he is actually flesh and blood good and proper now thanks to the combination of the pyreflies, tidus's memories, and the couple longing to be with eachother.

That's the interesting thing, you can't be a summoner if you don't have aeons. I think at some point before Zanarkand vs Bevelle, some people must have sacrificed themselves so they could become aeons. Perhaps to help prevent attacks by monsters.

Didn't in the past, the war between Zanarkand and Bevelle, Didn't Zanarkand originally have Summoners on there side vs Bevelle's Machina?

Also if the dreamers of the Zanarkand word are the only Fayth's how do we explain why Seymore's mother was an Aeon? Also wasn't the Magus Sisters a recent Aeon?

So where they came from? My guess would be if one with a strong heart or strong will is willing to sacrifice their soul, in order to live as a fayth forever, (or until Sin was defeated)
