In your opinion which boss was the hardest?
Please share your opinions on the hardest boss and how you beat it.
 
Vinilles eidolon kept one shotting me because i hadnt leveled up my characters enough at that point. it was really hard, but in the end it came down to timeing my paradigm shifts PERFECTLY, i did get through it but i faild like 10 times
 
I hated Ushumgal Subjugator 2, but I thought that Enlil & Enki were a real pain because of the fact that there were 2 of them. I think I used: Slash & Burn (to partially fill the stagger meter), Dualcasting (to finish up the sm), Yin & Yang/War & Peace (for major healing), and some potions here and there. I'm at ch.11 now and that was from.....6 (?), so I can't rly remember, but it was difficult because of their simultaneous & powerful attacks. Took about 8 tries :/
 
proclade encounter #2 was probly the hardest for me cause the dude would always nuke my leader when he went overload or w/e it was. I did about a dozen attempt before i killed him. My party was probly a little weak since i did skip alot of random encounters throughout the game. All i did was just slowly depleted his hp without hitting a 4rth stagger till i was sure i could kill him during one. was a piece of cake then.
 
Proudclad encounter #2 here, too. It seemed to have the biggest difficulty jump as you're going through the game. The others bosses seemed to become more and more difficulty at a steady rate that you were around equal to their ability, or stronger. But the Proudclad was definitely the hardest for me, though not overly difficult.
 
I really had trouble with the Eidolons. All of them took a few tries but Vanille and Hope's Eidolons were the most difficult. It knocked me dead several times because Hope and Vanille simply weren't strong enough or I just ran out of time.
Vanille's one was the worst, also because they were just with the 2 of them. I believe I made it just on time. If I pressed square one second later I had to try again.
 
The second-to-last one. That stupid thing that kept pwning me with that insane slamming-explosion attack, even after I put Death resistance equipment on Lightning...which, by the way, didn't do a very good job at blocking Death ._.

I was doing just fine up to that point. I struggled a bit with Bahamut, but otherwise I found it all rather easy. But then that thing came along ._.
 
For me it was Hecatoncheir. It took me about 10 tries to finally killed that guy, definitely the hardest. Also the one Dweia mentioned, until I discovered the magic of debuffs and then it was a pushover.

second to last butthole, motherfucking fucker probably gave me the game over screen most often, there's nowt quite as irritating as death being cast on your leader and it hitting :hmph:

I had several rage moments there :ffs:

Including marks, it has to be the mission with the two Raktavijas, easily. Vercingetorix is up there as well though, with Gigantuar.
 
hmm no eidolons took me more than 4 tries! ::D so proud
i couldnt find a decent way to get brynhyldr tho, couldnt find a way of catching him with doom counter above 100 :p

anyway..hardest boss hmm, unlike other ff games there was never a boss that was so hard i had to give up an come back to get past it buuut im gona saaaay the 3 tonberries :P just for a laugh, tried to do all the trials before doing the orphans cradle section so only lvl 4 roles so neochu an zyrnytra also very hard but im gona say tonberries jus cos i love em :p plus the only reason i won because was when no. 3 used serious grudge twenty-sided die worked
 
Cid Raines - he was such a pain in the ***
Barthandelus no.1 - took me such a long time
Barthandelus no.2 - always took away my buffs
2nd last one - that sword-slam draining away my health
 
Most of the eidolons took me a few tries, but they weren't unbelievably hard.

The hardest fights for me were the first fight with Barthandelus, that took me a ridiculous amount of time before I discovered the trick to beating him.

The fight with Cid Raines was quite hard at first, but I found a strategy on youtube which raped the shit out of that motherfucker.

and I found the second to last boss fight quite difficult.
