Alright, I wanna start playing this game and ACTUALLY beat it...

But I cant decide which is best... SNES, PSX, or GBA... I know they are diffrent in there own ways...

Err...yea...which one is the best one to play? Cause I noticed when I was playing the PSX version...the characters seemed more bland... in GBA...they kinda added in a little more to the characters...

Again I ask...which should I play?

GBA. Better translation, added area's, added 'super' bosses and Jobs....all you need to know really.

Okay.. thought so anyway...

Galuf is much... more characteristic in GBA :)

Ugh..in PSX

Galuf: Oww my head... I dont remember anything....oh wait...My name is Galuf...

It has the worst chracter intro's ever...

"My name is Lenna.. and you are?"

Hey you should get the FFV advance version its actually pretty fun but I just got it as one of my gifts for christmas and I am halfway through already. I heard FFV advance was the best version.

lol im playing advance version...on my..psp *cough*

Yea its a great game.. its one of my faves

I have both versions that came out in NA. The PSX one and the GBA one, and I must say that the GBA version is vastly superior because the translation, as someone mentioned, is so much better. Faris's over-the-top pirate talk is removed, though she still has her characteristic personality. And gameplay-wise the GBA version has extra-bosses and jobs, which is awesome.

lol Bartz is actually funny in the GBA version

like the part when there on the graveyard for ships

Faris :Do we have to go this way, we'll get soaked

Bartz: What, are you going to melt or something?

LOL i think its funny

or when they try to steal the pirate ship...

Bartz:(forgot what he said, but it was something like) Stop you piratey...pirates!

Bartz: something smells fishy and it aint cod

Oh yeah, I forgot that Bartz became funny. I do recall him saying a few lines that got a giggle out of me ><

I have the game on PS1 and I love it. Sure it may take longer to load screens, but I prefer playing my games on consoles as opposed to handhelds.

I'd say it all depends on your preferences. If you want the newly updated GBA version, go for it. Sure there's a few more added features, but not too much that you'll miss out if you go with the PS1 version, Anthology.

Plus, with Anthology on the PS1, you get FFVI as well.

I would say that the SNES version dominates all, if you can read japanese and still have a SNES...

in english go with the PSX version, because even if some of the names are a little off (Wyvern became Y Burn, and Lenna to Reina)
but they still got the bulk of it down right. ('cept for Faris' pirate talk but, hey better to add an old timey pirate than to add references to shows that weren't even out in 95!
that and the PSX versions translation was more serious, like a real FF game)
The GBA version's translation just had to much added to it (with the f***ing pop culture references left and right) and they added stuff in that translation alot more than they did in the PSX version ("Piratey Pirates", "Oh My Stars and Heavens", "n' stuff", "DOH!")

I play both just because I love the game so much (PSX normally, GBA when I'm at school or on the go)

actually if you can go ahead and download the SNES version and get an English patch, fan translations are always good it seems
or if you are dying to get the Advanced version download it and find a good english patch with none of the pop culture non sense...

hey there mate just want to say that GBA is recommended since its newest and the interface is much more clear the item names are much understandable and the translation is far better, although this has been mentioned before but they haven't added much stuff in the GBA version.

things that had been added in

4 new classes

necromancer
oracle
gladiator
cannoneer

couple of new boss

enuo
grand aevis
omege mk.II
neo shinryu
guardian

challenge your self these newly added bosses are super hard.
