Which is your favourite FF weapon?

The Buster Sword.

I just like this weapons story in the game- the way it was Angeal's sword, then he gave to Zack just before he
dies
and then Zack passes it to Cloud. Also Zack kicked ass with this sword, :D

Masamune (Sephiroth).

It just kicks ass. It's so big and just suits Sephiroth perfect. The way he holds it and everything, I don't like it as much as the Buster Sword, but damn, it's badass.

Buster Sword ftw!

I love its backstory, going from Angeal, to Zack, to Cloud. Both Zack and Cloud used it to kick Sephiroth's ass as well, which is awesome in itself. I also think it's really sweet how it's a grave marker for Zack now, seeing as how he fought to the death with it.

Other than that, I really liked Cloud's new sword in AC. Stella's rapier in the upcoming game Versus looks pretty sweet as well, with its sleek lines and gorgeous handle.
 
Oh man, my post is so pointless, but the original poster said it all.

I really love Genesis's sword- just because all by itself, it's beautiful yet kick-ass, while disbanding the usual Japanese style of swords traditionally used by characters in Final Fantasy.

And then Squall's gunblade. Even though it's probably my least favorite Fina Fantasy, that gun was revolutionary and cool and just...phew.

And then the Brotherhood just for how it looks...though I somewhat doubt it's effectiveness.

Squall's Revolver is a very unique weapon, Sephiroth's Masamune is incredibly stylish, and Cloud's First Tsurugi is just a BA sword.
 
Hm, Tidus' Brotherhood, Genesis' sword.. And the Masamune. (And i chose them all cos' I thought they looked good..)
 
Favorite FF Weapon

Mine is Odin's Zantetsuken from Crisis Core: FFVII. Of course Strife Buster, Musamune, Lionheart, and Zidane's twin daggers round out the top five.
 
My favorite is the Lionheart... though I also like Rinoa's Shooting Star and Quists's Save the Queen

My first favorite would be Lionheart followed by the brotherhood, masamune, and the buster sword. Well the buster sword from advent children anyway, not Zack's sword.

I don't know... I like a lot of weapons xD

I thought Rinoa's... uhm... shooting star, I think, was realllllly pretty =) I loved the weapons in FFX, mostly. They looked so much more detailed with the better graphics. Yuna's rods and staffs were really good looking, and I liked the staffs just as much in FFX-2. A lot were repeats of FFX ones, but there were new awesome looking weapons like the thief daggers and the berserker claws and alchemist guns... I loved all of FFX-2's weapons the most I think. The Gun mage guns were AMAZING looking :awesome:
 
I mostly liked FFX's weapons.

I especially loved the Masamune and the Brotherhood.

Mostly because it feels like they do much more damage. More than Yuna's staff and Wakkas blitzball would do anyway. XD

It just looks better when they smash the enemy with their swords.
 
Hmmm this is a toughie, i think Ill go with the Buster Sword. Just because of its epicness.
It has been in 2 games and movie therefore its famous!

While most FF games contain a lot of cool and awesome characters, they seem to lack in awesome weaponry.

The weapons carried by the FFVII characters are by far the worst. The really big sword (Cloud) and katana (Sephiroth) are present in almost every videogame with sword wielding warriors ever created and some of the other weapons are just too absurd or stupid: Caith Sid's megapghone...wtf? Only Wakka's blitzball scores higher on the sillyness chart. Barret's gun arm...for real, I'd rather have some claw, so I can open a bag of crisps instead of shooting it.

The weapon's in FFVIII were decent looking, and the gunblade is a very interesting concept which was nicely integrated in the game (extra interactivity with the R1 button-criticals etc.) Also, no really stupid weaponry, kudo's to whoever designed the fighting gear for this game!

FFIX's double swords and air rackets are neat! Stupid prize goes to Quina's golden fork, too much of a Toy Story/Small Soldiers vibe going on here.

FFX (and X-2)'s weapons are by far the neatest, nice design, cool looks and each weapon added something to the character. I liked the voodoo-doll style of weapon for Lulu, too bad the made it too 'happy; by making the weapon into a cactuar or some other too happy looking creature. Wakka's ball is the most stupid weapon in any FF, if I was an adventurer and my buddy was throwing dodgeball's at the huge massmurdering whale monster, I'd smack him on the head to bring his sense back. At least Tidus' weapons looked really stylish, too make up for that.

I'm not really fond of the every-weapon-for-every-character system, weapons add extra flavor to a character, it's lame to have a whole party equiped with exactly the same stuff.

To conclude,
Win: Air racket (FFIX), Gunblade (FFVIII) and Brotherhood (FFX)
Fail: Blitzball (FFX), Fork (FFIX), Gun arm (FFVII) and Megaphone (FFVII)
 
Cloud's First Tsurugi (The Multiple part sword from Advent Children :8F: ) It's awesome and I love that he can attach different parts to power up the blade or make it whole.

Ultima Weapon FFVII: Cloud's final sword. It has an awesome look to it and I like that it changes colors correspondent to his remaining HP :D

Lionheart: OMG, I love Squall Lionheart Gunblade. It looks so cool and the fact that it allows him to perform Lionheart makes it very good.

I agree with most of those. Quina's forks lacked style, but they did some decent damage. Some of Wakka's blitzballs seemed alright with me. World Champion (?) had spikes growing out of it, which I'd stay away from if I were the enemy. But that's just my opinion, and you have yours.

I love most weapons in FFIX, especially Eiko's flutes. Smacking enemies with a flute (which is normally made of hard material) when all else fails seems pretty funny to me. The Air Racket was one of the best, but my favorite in FFIX is actually a tie between Angel Bless and Oak Staff. Angel Bless because it was the first time I did severe damage with Zidane aside from Trance, and kind of the same for Oak Staff. It was the first staff I got (in my first FFIX walkthrough) that could deal great physical damage.

In FFII, it's gotta be the Ogrekiller. I usually gave it to Gus (who always became my axe-wielder) and he did WAY more damage with it than the weapon he had previously equipped (usually the Mythril Axe). Second for FFII has got to be the Blood Sword. It always ignored Defense, which always helps in the final battle against the Emperor.

For FFI it's got to be Masamune. Too bad you only get it late in the game, allowing you to use it only on the final boss. I always get Thief so he could equip the next best weapon, Sasuke, when he becomes a Ninja. I get Cat's Claws for my Black mage/Wizard and usually give the Thor's Hammer to the White Wizard. As for Masamune, that would go to the Red Wizard (if he's on my party). The Knight should stick with Excalibur while the Ninja sticks with Sasuke, since those two weapons were made exclusively for them. The Monk/Master, of course, should always stick to unarmed combat.

Finally, for FFX. It's gotta be Tidus' Brotherhood simply because of its style. All other weapons are the same to me.

So for my conclusion:

Win: Oak Staff, Angel Bless, Flute (FFIX), Brotherhood (FFX), Ogrekiller, Blood Sword (FFII), Masamune, and Sasuke (FFI)
Lose: Anything that lacks power AND style.

I just can't pick one for the win section. So sue me. :)
 
I liked a lot of the weapons in FFVII because many of them were really unique. I always kind of liked how Cait Sith attacked with a megaphone, don't know why. And Cid used a mop at one point, very humourous.
Steiner's Excalibur (or Excalibur II) in IX was pretty amazing itself, and I've always loved Cloud's Buster Sword.
But my favourite, of course, would be Sephiroth's Masamune. He whipped that thing around so fast, despite its length, and it just looks so menacing. I always used to pretend I was playing with it as a kid.
