@x_Katherine_x - Heh, precisely what Splintered Visions said. Follow your dream, and don't give up on it. If people are bleeding they wouldn't go to a Doctor anyway, but to the hospital, so it's doubtful you'll see blood. Besides, fears can be faught, don't let it stop you. To become a Doctor though, you have to work real hard[ not trying to put you off, seriously]. If you're prepared to do that, it'll be within your reach. Don't give up. =]

@Riku - I'll give you my personal opinion. To be successful in your chosen career path, you should follow something you're good at, but also that something should be what you enjoy doing. It's the worse thing, ending up in a job you don't enjoy, because you'd be less bothered with it, and thus prone to being slack and unimpressive to your boss. It sounds to me that music is something you enjoy and are good at, so I advise you take a career in that. I think you'll be most successful in that area of work than say...Science because you mentioned you hated Science. Heh, people said I should be a Physcologist because of my advice. xD So if you want to talk more, get me on MSN =].

You know, I've been arguing with myself and I won by saying that, but still ... I'm not sure if "teaching" is for me, but then ... ach. I might just take you up on that.

I'm fascinated with CSI:Miami and I'm so obsessed that I want to work in Forensics now :P I then slapped myself and decided that all I want is to act alongside David Caruso, Emily Procter and Eric Rodriguez XD.
 
When I grow up, I want to do something with computers. I've always loves computers and graphics and especially pixel art for some reason.

I also enjoy coding so computer related stuff would be perfect for me. I'm taking a college prep class on it and I'm actually going to be in a coding contest.

I'll probably be going to college for computer stuff for a while. My only fear is the fact that computer jobs are very competitive and they'll replace you just like that if they find someone better.
 
I used to be set on being a maths teacher when I was younger, though since then I've become intensely introverted. Sight shifted to the field of technology and design, I took a few courses in high school that I'd hoped would sharpen these skills, as well as experimentation of Photoshop and such programs. To my dismay, instead of feeling stronger about this field, my motives sagged. I'm now left with multiple hobbies rather than dreams, and fear that time is running out to choose.
 
I think I'll be in the military for a few years before I go into some engineering field
 
I'm wanting to become a veterinary technician. The vets do alot more surgerys and stuff, but the techs get to do more of the helping stuff. If I can't do that, or I find I can't take the blood or euthanising animals, then I at least know I want to do something with animals. I especially love working with larger animals like dogs and horses.

I want to live somewhere more countrish, not in a big city or something like that. Not even in the suburbs, probably. I'm not sure about marriage, but I'd think I'd want to if I found somebody, and I know I'd like to adopt kids, not have them myself. Besides that, I wanna live an honest life and help people. That's all I know right now. And oh, I've found a university I want to go to. It's one of the top Christian universities in the world.

that's the right outlook. Helping people is always a good aspiration.

Yeah, I think I will live in the country as well. I grew up in the city, but I like the country a lot better. I like the outdoors and nature
 
we should post our ages just so everyone knows what stage of our lives we are in.

When I was really little, I wanted to be a ninja.
Then I started playing my NES and wanted to be a game designer.
Then I hit my adolescent years and decided I need to go to Japan.
Now I'm 20 and at school. I'm getting a Secondary English Education Degree, which means high school english. I'm also getting a minor in Japanese. When I have my degree, I'm moving over to Japan to teach english for a bit. From there, I dont know what will happen.

Teaching english overseas is always a good job. The pay is decent. Are you going to stay near one of the U.S. bases?
 
I have no idea. Its where-ever the recruiters will put me. If they tell me to live in a tiny apartment somewhere, I'll do it. Hell, I'll live in the school if I have to
 
I have a cousin who is teaching English in Japan, I don't know in which part though.
-I am in high school right now and want to become a software programmer. I am planning on majoring in Computer Science. It's going to be hard since I really have no experience. I hope to work on video games some day and go to Japan.
 
Well, when I was little I always liked playing 'doctor' for animals. Now that I'm 16, that liking has only become stronger. I still wanna help animals. I wouldn't mind being a doctor, but people complain more. :P I remember when I was about 14, I wanted to be a graphic artist, and work with computers, but that was short-lived. I couldn't take sitting at the computer all the time. Though I do that alot now, I'm not going to do that as much when I get to college.

My second choice is psychiatrist, then maybe a teacher.
 
My previous job was hands on computer repair and teaching computer classes, then I went to work for a college and I was an IT Help Desk Analyst for 5 years which involved assisting people over the phone with computer related issues amongst many other things. I was promoted to IT Help Desk manager at the college and I enjoy it some days and others I just want to run screaming. My dream right now is learn more about the system admin world and get into that.

When I was younger I wanted to be a vet or microbiologist, but I couldn't resist the lure of getting into an information technology field.
 
I had originally went to school to become a doctor, but now I've kinda changed my course and am studying to become a veterinarian. even though I have set that as my career goal, I've been looking around still. I've recently become interested in geosciences. I'm really big into palaeontology, but I don't really see a big career in that, but it's still something to look into.
 
God, I went through so many phases when I was younger. I wanted to be a teacher, horse rider, policewoman, manga artist, computer game designer, screenwriter. And now I want to become a novelist or a TV screenwriter. Im currently doing a writing course at university, but its not as helpful as I thought it would be.
 
I decided to delve into the world of Information technology.

I've also taken up teaching it at my local college. However the course is introductory, so it's not like I have to rack my brains to help out with lessons. I'm only an assisstant, too. So all I do is make sure everyone knows what they're doing.

So generally, I.T maintenance, construction, and I'm working on programming too, so perhaps I'll experiment with game development.
 
When I was younger I always wanted to be an author :lol: I don't know what made me give that up, but then by the time I was about 10, I wanted to be a joiner. And then a few years later I decided I wanted t get into computer maintenance. I tried going through with this, but after doing a weeks work experience, I decided it wasn't for me
Now I've decided I'm going to get into Computer Games Development at university, and then hopefully I can end up with it as a proper career
 
Well I'm majoring in Criminal Justice with a degree in Political Science, which I could go one of many routes for. Many people always give me the "Do you want to be a police officer" question, but in all honestly, it's not my number one choice. I have an intership opportunity lined up for next Fall semester to work at a County Prison and then in the Spring of '08 before graduation as a Probation officer. I'd love to get the experience in so I can find a decent job and know what I'm doing for graduation.

Definitely a difficult time in my life where I need to get everything together at once.
