What's Cloud's Story

Ahh, very interesting post there. That could be possible, yes...because there are so many different people that interprets the game. Others are completely different from each other, while there's also ones that are similar.

Erm, it's a SUPER-hard story to follow, even for me...I usually find it easy to know what's going on, but FF7 is complicated. I think I was pretty accurate though...

And also, when they fell into the Lifestream (when Cloud's all screwy and in a wheelchair), he and Tifa have to discover who Cloud really is. That's when they realized that Cloud wasn't the one who entered the reactor with Sephiroth. He was one of the guards that was with them...he stayed outside the reactor with Tifa (which Tifa then remembers, meaning he's a real person)

I mean, Cloud DOES have the Sephiroth gene inside him...so in a sense, he's LIKE the clones, but he isn't an actual clone, because he already existed.

that doesn't gel with the fact when Sephiroth kills (Zack?) on his way to take Jenova from the Nibelhiem reactor, that Tifa runs upto Zack and says "You Promised you'd be there", suggesting that Zack is Tifa's life long friend not Cloud. :S

If this is a memory of Clouds then that doesn't work either, since it rasies questions about where Cloud knew Tifa from if Zack is Tifa's lifelong friend. Ugh my head is killing me
 
Good point, my head is killing me now too. I suppose I thought Cloud was the one who taked to Tifa about joining Soldier during the shooting star sequence but Tifa was already in a relationship with Zack. During the stabbing scene, that was Zack. Cloud heard of it perhaps? Perhaps a psychic bond with Tifa?

I give up :)
 
Didn't cloud later clarify that it was him who went back and helped Tifa.
And he said that HE ran after sephiroth and killed him...?

yep, that was the truth when Tifa and Cloud found out when they were looking for the real Cloud. Cloud is a clone, because he does have Hojo's number thingy written on him somewhere. Cloud is clone during the whole game, but its really him after Tifa finds the "real" Cloud. ....anything else?
 
Cooky and Grimore, the reason why things don't add up is because everything is mixed up. Both Zack's and Tifa's memorys of the event merged with Cloud's to create an illutionary version of what happend, its all mixed and matched. Im pretty sure this is made fairly clear in the game, but may take a few plays to get to grips with it.

As for the number, Cloud didn't get a number because both he and Zack escaped before being given one. Simple. Cloud was a clone during the whole game and still is even after 'finding himself', he's just got full control over himself now and is no longer influenced by the Jenova Cells inside him.
 
that explains the scenes not adding up, so let me get this straight, Cloud is one of the guard outside the reactor, who rushes in and talks to tifa after Zack is killed by Sephiroth, and that's what Tifa means when she says "You promised you'd be there" because Cloud didn't prevent Zacks death?
 
hmmm, didn't think of him, it's possible he died in SOLDIER and then the clone was created
 
my mind is drawing a complete blank. I wonder how he DID die...maybe the game did state it, but i've just forgotten.
 
I don't think it does, then again I have never completed every sidequest in the game, maybe moonchild can shed some light on this subject

The only sidequest that mentions anything about Cloud is the one where he escapes to midgar with Zack...
 
an after thought: if clone Cloud was given an incorrect memory by Shin-ra why doesn't Tifa object to his story?
 
Idk...well...let's try to piece this together...

Tifa claims that Cloud wasn't really there when Zack and Sephiroth showed up and she took them to Mt Nibelheim.

Cloud claims that he WAS there (with Zack's memory)

Cloud then claims that he actually wasn't a first class soldier, and he really was there, but his face was covered the whole time.

So at that point in time, for cloud to have realized that he was there, but only on the sidelines, then that must have been the REAL cloud, and his REAL memories. If it was a clone, then it wouldn't have been able to remember that.

I'm stumped right here. =[
 
Idk Im gonna have to look at some theories on google here in a minute. lol.
