I think they might but I don't want it to go 3D - have you seen the graphics in the original FF VI??? It was one of the best looking SNES games (right behind Secret of Mana) and a 3D remake would SUCK. It would completely ruin it for me and tons of original fans of the game. Maybe a slight change in the graphics for the better (like the did when the brought FF I from the GBA to PSP, they just smoothed it)

I really don't think a remake is necessary but it might be done, and if it does I might play it as long as it doesn't go 3D. Graphics don't make a game. You guys have fallen for that theory and so has SE. Why do you think FF XIII was so bad? Because they focused on graphics. Graphics are the ultimate downfall to any game.
In order for a FF VI remake to be successful, they need it to feel old school. Feel like the grand age for RPG's. They need to make it bring us back and enjoy what RPG's were, not are, and then there will be a masterpiece.
