im just wondering what everyone thought of Vayne Solidor, the main antagonist this time around. The Good and bad i'd like to hear please :) .

Personally i thought he was awesome and the idea of the Undying was extremely cool in my opinion, but i'd like to know what others thought about him (in all respect ie design, personality, abilities etc.)

thanks:cool:

He was very charming. Handsome, had wonderful eyes, voice, and his character too was very well done. He was also very calculating. He knew what he was doing, he knew how to get to higher places, and he got there. A personal fave FF villain, as he was someone who really did appeal to me.

I just dun like the part when he gave up and tells venat that he doesn´t fits for the power of the nethicite... still, venat joins with his body and blablah =P

It's the only part when he dissapoints me, like giving up and stuff.

Even so...I dun like it nor hate him. The best part still, is when he talk to his lil brother larsa on the bahamut, I like Vayne's attitude in there.

;P Vayne + The Imperial Army could probably own Sephiroth

Vayne was actually a pretty damn realistic villain. I kinda like that fact. He was a half-mad emperor who was thirsty for power, which is the typical villain, yet there was something refreshing about his character this time around. He also looks a lot like Laguna from VIII. =/ I wouldn't say he looks horrible. Just right.

True evil.. uncaring and druken with power... Good stuff!!! I thought he was awesome and like Mitsuki said very realistic, which I liked. And the whole Undying thing at the end :woot: blew me away!! It really made the end IMO. Now I figured someone would have to say something bout Sephiroth, I think it would be a good fight. Pretty close in power IMO. But we'll never know

vayne was annoying.....in a good way. he was a great bad guy i thought just seemed like he was completely off his head willing to anything to gain power. Much better villain than sephiroth thats for sure

He was okay, the only parts that I really liked him was when you were fighting him and he used some of those big attacks and said some cool lines in there (I have a thing for those speeches).

The only thing I didn't like is normally you don't meet or here about the villain at the beginning. You didn't hear about Sephiroth until you were leaving Midgar, I think you heard about Ultimecia after Edea return to normal. You heard on various occasions about a 'strange man' but never actually saw him until the end of disc 1. Seymour wasn't seen until Luca.

I have to agree with Rulia. He's incredibly smart and he knows just exactly how to win people over. I mean the Rabanastrans were starting to warm up to him because he genuinely seemed like a good guy. I remember hoping for a time that we wouldn't be the main villian but I guess I didn't get lucky. Over all he's my fave FF villian. He's so smexy! :P

I have to agree with some of the earlier comments about him showing up early and him perhaps not being the main vilian for the whole game.

The patern in most FFs is that there is at least one change in major antagonist throughout the game. and the second only shows up after a while. Whilst Vayne is extremely cool, perhaps he should have showed up a bit later in the game after another villian is defeated

He is not nessecarily an evil villian, his motives are those of venat, which is to release human from the bonds of the gods (I'm an atheist, so I sympathize). He did want to become the next dynast king, but so did Ashe at one point, in fact by the end of the game the heros had the villians had excatly the same goal (which did make all the deaths by the end of the game as well as the entire struggle of the party seem pointless). The only difference I could see was that the two tried to acheive it in different ways, Ashe did it in moral ways and for the most part wasted lives, money, and time only to be beat by Vayne who used immoral methods but ultimately acheived it. I did find the undying battle a little pathetic, not in the actual battle, but because vayne basically wanted to go out with a bang (theorectically whether or not the party survived to beat vayne didn't really matter storyline wise, the world was already safe from the tainted hand of the gods).

its goin slightly 2 far to say he is betta than sephiroth bt a gd villain i believe
