Mad quesiton, but what sort of Crimbo decorations do you like or prefer? Do you like them all colourful, reds and golds, silver, gold or the new black decorations?

I myself am I old fashioned colourful Crimbo person. The coloured lights remind me of my childhood and I actually call them "80s crimbo lights" as they are so old school and festive. Ive known some people who prefer reds, golds and greens as their colours, but that to me can be voring and same old. My mum was silver last year and that was just so damn boring IMO! It wasnt festive at all, it was too fashionable.

But now black christmasses are coming, seriously! Black everything, black tree, black suited Santas, etc. Its so morbid and horrid!!

How bout you??

I like colour schemed decorations, but the colour sceme should be different for each room. We have a tree in the kitchen with blue and white decorations, and we have blue, white and silver paper chains up. In the lounge the colour scheme is red and gold and theres even a tree in my room, where the scheme is purple and silver :)

I don't even follow aparticular colour theme, I just launch any old decorations and tinsel on my tree. Altho, I say that, but I haven't even put my tree up yet. I think im going abit bah humbug......

Just a little bit.... Only a week til Christmas now....

Anyway, what do you all think of coloured trees? I.E pink or black or whatever? I don't like them. I think they look tacky... A black one MIGHT be ok, but I don't know. It might look a bit dismal...

Ulitma, I was kinda refering to trees in the first post ...

Green tree is the only way to go IMO.

Omg I know!! I hate all this co-ordinated decorations like white trees with purple and silver decorations only. It's too contemporary for mee. Personally I love Colourful lights/tinsel/baubles and random decorations like 3-legged reindeers and santas and stuff which my mum has had since before I was born. For pretty much the same reasons as you aswell, as they remind me of when i was younger (I would say childhood, but at 15 Im pretty much still a child :P)

Green trees FTW !!! :D

And i havent heard about those 'black christmasses'... Sounds rather depressing.. o_O

We actually go with red and gold and such every year. It's a little boring, but looks pretty good. My parents like the natural feel too, so we've got garlands and fake natural-type decorations up too. It looks good. =]

I like multi-color lights and hand made decorations. Hand made decorations just look a lot better.

We had red and gold the last couple of years but got fed up of it, does go nicely though.

I don't like too many colours. Like having every colour under the sun on the tree. It just looks horrible. We tend to just have red and gold on the tree, and a few other colours in other places.

Well aye, too much gives me a headache, but i prefer coloured lights to white ones and coloured baubles and gold beads etc. =P . It's a relatively small tree so cant have too much on it anyhoos

Colored lights look cool, but I prefer the gold, red, and green colors. I guess I'm into the whole traditional theme. I don't find it boring though. xD

Now if it's decorating the Christmas tree, I like to stick to one color. I prefer gold tinsels and green or golden lights.

We've never had a true theme on the tree...most of our ornaments are Hallmarks, all colorful and with very special memories attached, and with the multicolor lights on the tree it looks spectacular. We have always gone for gold garland, though.

I think multicolor ornaments look even better on a white tree, for some reason...my little white tree is all done up in candy ornaments and multicolor lights and it looks truly magical.
