Hello im new to this forums, just finished FFXII an hour ago and wanted to share abit what i miss about the old style final fantasy games..

The 4 CD's! oh man i miss those.. big covers and if any of the cds were broken you were basicly screwed. nono i just miss those please enter cd 2 etc..

What I miss? Hm.

Well, I miss enjoying playing it. I miss the engaging plots I identified Final Fantasy with prior to Final Fantasy XII. Ah, well.

Hmmm...I can think of a couple off the top of my head...

NINJAS!!! In most of the FFs where there's a specific ninja in the party, said character has kicked ass. I don't know why they don't have a ninja as main character...Why not give that a go? Make a FF world that's more based in a eastern world?

Mash/Sabin's Blitz ability! While certain characters have had similar abilities within their Desperation Attack/Limit Break/whatever, but it's never been like Mash/Sabin...Yeah! Street Fighter moves as Final Fantasy abilities! What's not to like? Oh, yeah, the tons of idiots that could never manage Pummel in that first fight...:P

Hahaha I miss the cd changing aswel as stupid as it sounds xD It was always a nice little achievement knowing Id finished a disc :gasp:

I miss the sphere grid in X :gasp: Not that Id want it implemented in every game because that would just get boring but...yeah.

I just miss playing them tbh, I either don't have the time or Im just not motivated enough anymore, I think Im dgetting olf -__-

There's only disc now for most games simply because PS2 disks are probably more advanced in terms of technology. What do I miss? Well, nothing. Final Fantasy is still around, so why would I? Each game I play is still a true Final Fantasy so...there :/

Well, PS2 discs are DVDs, so they hold a larger amount of information than the previously used CD format...so...yeah...PS3 obviously uses Blu-Ray, right? Whatever...

I agree!!

I really do miss the great storylines. :sad2:

Hmm... I wonder if SquareEnix changed their writers.

Cheer up my friend :D they made a whore*Fran I mean*!

WOW....You really like kicking ppl asses!!

About the missin shit you were talking about Iris..Hmmm...I miss the old fighting system, the way the summons come and shoot the flames or w/e and the way the members act when they won a battle. but you have to know that every FFgame got some great advantages, in this game you have to find the advatanages by yourself coz it's still a FF game you know.

I actually liked the Quickning crap.

If that exchange occured in person, you'd have been met with a long, awkward silence.

I also miss...you know...actually liking the characters. Well, I wouldn't mind having characters that I hate as long as I find them interesting. The characters on FFXII were just sorta...there. I didn't give a damn about 'em.

ye you didnt get to much indepth with the characters in ffxii... well balthier and ashe.. i kinda liked balthier after the cid fight :)

Perhaps Revenant Wings was their attempt to flesh out a couple of the XII characters then...

Uh...I also miss the Dark Knight class! I hear they put it in War of the Lions, which is nice...but I'd like to see a new character actually just be a Dark Knight...even though he/she would be constantly compared to Cecil...I'd like a PERMANENT Dark Knight for once...

After playing FF1/FF2 on the PSP today I just miss the 'old' Final Fantasy with the sprites...obviously, I don't want to downgrade the graphics and stuff but the whole game just feels Final Fantasy like...the story and more important the battle system. :gasp:

I kinda miss the classic protect-the-crystals storyline...
It would appear the recent ones all left the crystals as a less important entity.
