What did you think about the Gilgamesh Hunt

I think it said 'replica'.

The Gilgamesh battles were fun, especially the second time. As someone above said, it had nice degrees of difficulty, interest, and entertainment. I felt bad for getting so annoyed with Enkidu that I just niha-something remedy'd it. :(

I thought it was good. I did the second part at levels 44-46 with my only ultimate weapon being Fomalhaut, so I found it more than a little challenging. Still, the best thing is that they kept his classic look and feel so to say, unlike what they did to Ultros :'(

I liked Gilgamesh for the same reason, he looks the same as the classic Gilgamesh from FFV and FFVI (the one with the whole Excalipoor thing in the arena). I'm glad they didn't change him like they did with alot of things in the series because I like them better as classics.

Sadly, I still have yet to fight him in FFXII but I saw videos of him and I liked what I saw. I thought he was humorous.

I wonder, whats the earliest time you can be able to fight him?

Well the first part of the fight (on the bridge just beyond the crystal in Lhusu Mines) is very easy. I'd say as soon as you have three characters with 1.5k HP, the Bubble spell and a healer with 250 MP then you can easily tackle him. Don't forget that each time he has a cutscene (approximately once every 25% of his HP) you can steal a new item from him, and there's Genji equipment to be had there.

The second part of the fight takes place in Area 11 of the mines, you need a key to get there and I'd say go for it at level 43-45 for Very Hard and level 50 (after Rhidorana) for Medium. Myself, I went there at level 43 without knowing how hard it would be, nearly got killed on the way by bats and crusaders, and spent all my consumables including 3 elixirs, 2 megalixirs, 2 hastega motes and 45 phoenix downs just to kill him. I'd say Jade Amulet, 20 X-Potions and a 5,500 HP (bubbled) tank are a requirement.

I fought that battle for over an hour--almost two. I was lucky that I had my FFXII strategy guide with me, because it helped me in the long run. I was ready for everything that sucker threw my way. Overall, it was fun and rather rewarding. Got his entire set of genji armor.

It was easy to defeat him after getting the Genji gauntlets. I just so happened to have my characters beefed up from the whole "Negalmuur" Auto-leveling trick, so it wasn't that hard. Also, after obtaining Chaos, the battle got easier. But the second battle was a bitch, pardon my Francais. It got tough after he used his special when he had his Pailing on. It was unbelievably tough trying to get my characters healed without the bubble belt on. My fault for selling everything before the fight. xD

Well, you can't just steal the Genji equipment from him regularly, I don't think. To be on the safe side, I think having the Theif's Cuffs equipped would be good.

I owned him the first time at level 49 or something like that. Right now, I'm level 94 and about to kick his butt!
As for the 1st time you fight him, the strategy is to hit hard. VERY hard. Personally, I had the Holy Lance for Vaan, the Volcano(oil bombs for extra strength) for Ashe, and a katana (Can't remember which one) for Penelo. He died pretty fast.
Now for Vaan, Penelo, and Ashe, I have Zodiac Spear, Ultima Blade, and Staff of the Magi. The reason I have SotM is because it raises magic. That, Sage Ring, Channelingx3, Swiftnessx3, Magic Lorex10, Serenity, the 4 MP raising augments, the proper gambits, and a little B. Magic I like to call scathe will work very well. Good bye, Gilgamesh. Thanks to Penelo. (^_^)

I totally pwned him and his dog creature in the first battle. I was probably over leveled though. The cutscenes in between kinda threw me off my groove, but it still wasn't that bad.

I went into the second battle feeling like a boss. But he totally destroyed me in the blink of an eye. I left for a few weeks to level up more, then came back and barely made it through the battle. Hard fought victory indeed.

I dug the fights though.
