What did you rename your party?

I dont understand why people say its not right or it feels disrespctful. The creators gave you a choice to change the name, not many games do not. It was nice of them to give you that option. They didnt give it to make you feel gulity and horrible for not sticking to the defaults.

But its up to you, just dont understand why people think that.
 
Hell no, I never rename my party it just makes it tacky i think.
 
Er... I was playing Pocket Monsters Red at the time I was playing through FF7 the second time, so... all of the characters were stuck with character names from Red.

I renamed Aeris "Erika." The best part was when someone would say the possessive "Aeris'" and it would be changed to "Erika'."

Example:
Cloud: Aeris' mom
Cloud: Erika' mom

(Proper grammar says it should be "Aeris's," but anyway.)
 
I've only ever actually played FFVII through once *dodges material thrown by other forum members* xD So for the sake of actually wanting to get to know the characters under their real names, I didn't change them ^_^
 
As far as I recall, when I first played this game, when I was around 8 or 9 years old, I think I put my name in place of Cloud, and I did change Aerith to Aeris(though it was a typo in the game) but I don't remember anything else.
 
I still remember what I named everyone my first playthrough. I've matured a lot since then, really :dry:

Barrett: Raekwon
Tifa: Woman
Cid: Cracka
Yuffie: Hoe
Red XIII: Dog
Cait Sith: Barnaby
Vincent: Willis


Good times. I always change my party names if I can. The last few have kinda been disappointing in that aspect.

Barret- John [Step Brother]
Cid- Frank [Dad]
Yuffie- Nessa [Me]
Tifa- Amber [Siser]
Aeris- Aiikah [My Own Character]
Vincent- Nick [My boyfriend (Couldn't name reno -sniffle]
Red XIII- Nanaki
Cait Sith- Josh [Friend of mine]
 
LMAO, yah i did, couldn't remember the names for the life of me, but first time thorugh an FF, i always re-name all char's as friends, whitch i think makes the player feel more inot the game experience, and the second + time thorugh, i just leave al as is.
 
No I never change the names. My friend called all his characters his friends names. When I was like oh Cloud was an excellent character, he was like he was called Nathan in my game.
 
I generally name mine after who i've been talking to lately, and if not got anyone for them,then a random name, i think i did some stupid ones once like

Barret- MR T
Tifa - Titty
Aeries - Dead
R13 - Doggy
Cid - Fagman
Vincent - Zombie
Yuffie - Dumbslag

Barret --> Max, Locke

Stupid names, I know, but they're mine...heh.

I like to keep mine default really, more so in VII than in any other FF, but I think I did switch around a couple.

Red XIII -- Nanaki, for the heck of it
Cloud -- Jay
Tifa -- Michelle (no clue why)

I think that's all I did.
