i recently had a job interview and their feedback was..... well.... ill tell you and you can form your own oppinion:

1) im too friendly

and thats it! is it just a cop-out? How can you be too friendly? did i smile too much? did i say thankyou too many times? what!!!! they didnt bother to tell me!!! and to be quiet truthful its making me sad!!!

How am i ment to be? like rude? Quiet and only saying a few words? like rufus a little bit evil? like vincent and slightly dark and mysterious?
(im only joking with those analigies but i think you get the idea.)

So please, little help?!?

yea, a little too friendly sounds like a good trait. But I guess it matters which job you're going for. So like Fields asked, what job?

Or a cop, or a prison warden or a traffic warden or a corporate tycoon.....

Being too friendly sounds like an excuse. They had probably already picked who they were going to employ and were just going through the motions with anyone else who had an interview after their pick.

Happened to me once. It was for a managment position where I was currently working and I'd gone for one a few months before. The excuse given then was "You were not chosen last time" Equally poor excuse.

Don't let it get you down, it's thier loss.

it was for an office juniour so that i could get an NVQ level 2. and aparantly ALL my feedback has been that im too friendly!!!!!! i feel they are just taking the piss.

Ive never heard of being too friendly being unsuitable for a job. Usually its if you havent made an effort in apperance or they didnt feel you were right for the company.

But forget them, if they reckon being too friendly is not right for them, go to some company who appricates a friendly employee.

That does sound like total bullshit. I can't imagine how being 'too friendly' is a bad thing, especially if it was in an office. Well, unless you do get too friendly
If that's the sort of feedback you're getting, then use it to your advantage and find a job where they want a friendly person

yeah i suppose your right!! i should try and use it to my advantage, the thing was though in the job description they wanted a friendly person!!!!

be a clown! is it too possible to be too friendly as a clown?

hmm helena_lou in a clown outfit....

when i watched a work experience video in pshce it clearly stated that friendliness is a key feature they look for

try being more to the point and less friendly to them not neccessarily nasty but less trying to be friends with them or whatever you do they find too friendly

but thats the thing. when they say im too friendly the dont give me a reason as to why they think im too friendly.

maybe you act or look a bit silly/immature when they want a serious hard worker but cannot find it in your appearance if you perhaps went in a suit and sat upright spoke clearly made excellent points and answered questions thoroughly(these are some ideas)

i do wear a suit. a black suit and a white shirt. my apearance is fine and the way i sit is perfect. i try not to be to familiar so i just dont see what wrong.
