Was anyone disappointed with Seymour?

Seymour was a great baddie, he was hard the first time around except the last time, killed him in less then a minute, whats up with that!!

well i have no clue hu shirimoph is anyway but i say seymour was in the middle the first couple battles with him were easy but the last 2 were way harder if ur not lvld up enough plus he made yuna marry him i mean thats bad right if i was forced to marry this evil blu haired maester hu wanted to become sin id freak lol ... just my point of view :)

i bloody hated the guy!!! i always thought he was evil from when i first met him. he is definately no sephiroth!!

To be really honest, I think that Seymour was an excellent antagonist (and remember, an antagonist doesn't have to be "evil"; s/he just has to work against the protagonist). I feel this way mainly because Seymour is an enemy that you actually hate. Really - I honestly wanted to punch him in his face. And I wasn't pissed off at Seymour because you had to fight him a thousand times, I was pissed off at Yuna for not sending him a thousand times when she had ample time to do so. :P

Well the only problem i had with him...was the fact that i believed i killed him for good every time i fought him but he always ended up showing up again...

smae here also on the fight with seymour on sin if you use anima he will own him thoroughly it was annoying when i tried it for a laugh and he slaughtered my anima:mad:

he wanted to cause terror and destruction

Seymour wanted to rid Spira of it's pain and sorrow by destroying it completely thus ending the Sin cycle, he didn't want to destroy Spira just for fun and I don't think he was actually that evil, he just had a different plan for ending the Sin cycle, that's all. I mean, atleast he had a plan, after Yunalesca was defeated Yuna and her Guardians just waited for a plan to smack them in the face

I often explore the possibility of Seymour being a protagonist. His reasons for wanting to "destroy" Spira was to "save" it. Technically, by destroying all life, he is indeed ridding the world of all hate, pain and suffering. In turn, he spares humans/humanoids from all of life's pain, and effectively cures them of something most of us wish we'd never have to experience. Sane? Not a chance in hell. Logical? Yes and no. A realistic goal? Damn yes.

His character is far more complex than most other villains. I say most, because I haven't played all the games yet, but it's safe to say he has substantial depth to him. He's not trying to destroy the world for something done eons ago, he's not whining about being manipulated, and he's not just a spiteful twat because he's ill.

Mental trauma gave this guy everything. xD I wasn't disappointed with Seymour in the slightest.

they could have made him more menacing or evil-looking and possibly a better weapon i mean come on a STAFF???????

still isn't a good villian
Square Soft didn't put enough effort into him i reckon compared to Sepirotih or howevere you spell it.

Not enough effort? I've love for you to elaborate on this. Seymour has more to him than the majority of protagonists in games these days, let alone for your average villain.

he is just the base of a normal FF villian, killed someone and wants to destroy the world..
they could of Elaborated on him in many different ways..
they could of made him a bit of a better fighter as well the only good thing about him is he posses ANIMA

I'll give you the comment on him being a below-average fighter, but that doesn't mean to say he's a low standard villain.

Did you not pay attention to the parts where his history was explained? Did you not put the jigsaw together and realize why he was doing all this?

Some parts of his past need to be explored outside of the main story, but his past is all there. He provides so much blatant reasoning as to why he's a good villain, it can hardly be argued with. Yes, his attire left much to be desired. Yes, his voice may have been off (I thought it was alright actually). Yes, his hair was odd, but that's due to him having Guado blood (for those of you who didn't bother to notice, the Guado have peculiar hair).

I rate Seymour rather highly. There's no reason not to.

Yeah and that giant hair with the pompons or whatever...how can we take him seriously like that!?:D
