hi everybody,

i played dirge if cerberus and i thougt: is vince better as a turk or not?
wattayouthink?
P.S.
i`m new on the forums:mrgreen:

Just in terms of character design I'd have to go with non Turk.

His red costume and metal appendages are far cooler than a suit and a generic haircut.

Take into account that he's also much stronger after his Turk days and theres not much of a comparison for me.

indeed

i have to agree, butt in the time that he WAS a turk he was less scary.
when is saw vince in real life for the first time of my live, i would run home as fast as i can

I think he's better as a non-turk. I mean, it's good that he had been one, because it gave him his whole personality... But I like the mysteriousness better then the insecure, don't stand up for yourself, type of vibe he game me.

Definitely the non turk one. :hmmm:

The Turk version is probably what he would prefer, because then he wouldn't be a genetically engineered monster/hero/thing.

I would prefer him the way he has become, because, well....hell man he's pretty much the coolest character in any game.

I definitely vote TURK version for this one.

I mean, let's face it. Vincent is the quintessential Japanese vision of the modern Western Cowboy of the American plains. I mean, he's got the whole package -- long red (color is important) clothing item, awesome gun, questionable DNA, and an overall sense of badassness about him. I mean, if it weren't for the hair, I'd call him DMC Dante's OTHER twin.

But anyways.

I like the Turk version because he ISN'T that blatant BLARG I ARE A JAPANESE COWBOY look about him. He looks like a normal guy, who is still a badass and doesn't look, well, like a freak. And he still has purdy eyes as a Turk, so there. Coolness quota has been met. :3

Also, normal-like characters such as the Turk version are realistic characters with more interesting problems than the abused non-Turk version of *insert gravelly voice* "I am my own monster" bullshit. Weird characters like the non-Turk version may be cool, but you as a player view them objectively, because it's rather hard to know what a character like THAT is feeling.

Let me compare it to Resident Evil 3. If memory serves me right, you start out playing the ever-famous Leon Kennedy, a rookie cop who's first day on the job just happens to also be the day of the Zombie Apocalypse. He, like you the player, doesn't know what the hell is going on, has very limited resources, doesn't know WHAT the hell to do, and generally goes on an overall shoot-anything-that-twitches spree, and understandably so. The character is scared and so are you, because you both don't know what's going on.

But do that same thing with mutant Vincent and what happens? This guy doesn't even bat an eyelash at the sight of squadrons of armed soldiers rushing at him. You as a player aren't so much living the game experience through the character as just watching the CHARACTER stoicly kick ass and just being in awe of what HE did, not what you did. In other words, the non-Turk Vincent is a poor gaming-experience vessel.

And finally, the Turk-Vincent actually fell asleep. In DOC, we see vincent SITTING on a bed and not actually sleeping. What the hell? As a writer and editor, I help people refine their characters all the time, and I have this rule. If you cannot envision your character using the toilet for the purpose it was intended, then you have made a bad character. If something so SIMPLE and so NATURAL would seem totally alien to the 'image' of that character, they are not at all realistic and should undergo sever rehaul in design.

I cannot, for the life of me, even imagine Vincent brushing his teeth without laughing, much less using the toilet. Now that says something.

In my opinion he's better when he's not a turk. Mainly because he's Demonised lol.
He's a brilliant character with a great transition between Good and Evil.

Non turk. Lol I remember him looking a little nerdy in flashbacks of him as a turk.

But I like his darker look and his demon forms. And I just like him in general as a character. (Though I think he was over used in AC and he certainly did not need his own game, he was a less is more character.)

im gonna have to say non-turk. I never played dirge of cebereus (i never owned a PS2, only borrowed a mates for FFX). I reckon his part in the movie was pretty perfect, although i wish he played a bit of a bigger part....every time i pay final fantasy VII, the moment i get to the mansion, the first thing i do is unlock the safe so i can get vincent..
