British medal interest at Vancouver 2010 lies largely in Whistler, where world number one women's bobsleigh duo Nicola Minichiello and Gillian Cooke will compete, as will skeleton star Shelley Rudman, who won GB's only medal - a silver - at Turin in 2006.
Back in Vancouver, the two British curling teams are also expected to challenge for medals, while there are outside chances in figure skating and speed skating.
"Pretty much everybody on the team skated British records and personal bests the week before we came here," said 29-year-old British short track speed skater Sarah Lindsay, who is set to compete at her third Winter Games.
"You can't ask for much more than that. For us, if one person can win, the whole team does."​

I'll miss the Opening Ceremony (too late for me to watch) but I'm hoping to catch bits and pieces of the games (mainly the alpine skiing and ice hockey). Who cares if I know nothing about the sports, it's the Olympics!

I love watching the olymics! I saw A-P openings though, I didn't watch all of it. I have a feeling this is going to be a good winter Olymics so, i'm looking forward to it ^^ I actually watched some of it earlier the girls were competing in Moguls and Hannah Kearney, an 23 year old American won Gold so, that's good news to the Americans!! :]

Ohno got the silver in the 1500m Short Track Speed Skate. But only after the 2 Koreans who were in 2nd and 3rd took each other out in the last turn. Short Track is definitely one of the funner events to watch.

I was watching a speed skating relay last night, and the Americans barely nudged out the Dutch for a second spot. It was to move on to the next round though, so they only needed second.

Speed skating is fun to watch. I'll mainly be watching that, ice hockey, and maybe bobsledding.

Im watching the olympics and I must say its fu to watch. Yes Hannah won hmmm poor Jenn Hile who got silver. I saw the mens downhill today and it was pretty good. Swis one gold I think. Italy should do better But the olympics are just so Im gonna watch more now

I saw that. That was a crazy race! There was so much passing in that race I was just waiting for someone to get taken out.

I'm glad that there are actually people I can talk with about the Olympics. Mostly everyone that I know don't watch them! It's actually very irritating.

What a tragedy with what happened with the Georgian guy.. can't believe they showed what happened to him on tv.. just terrible.
I've never really been into the olympics but i've watched a bit of it. I really hope Canada can pull off a bunch of gold medals on home soil though!

The Olympics are great, I'm not a sports person but I really admire what these people are capable of doing. And it's fun to turn it on every once in a while to check in on how everyone's doing. The speed skating and the figure skating are my favorites, but the skiing's great to watch too. I won't be watching the snowboarding, though--I broke my ankle doing that because I thought it would be fun to try it without lessons Lucky I didn't break my spine the way I landed--hit both my neck and my tailbone.

Also, has anyone noticed that Bob Costas seems to be immortal? He looks exactly the same as he did when I was about ten years old, and he couldn't have been that young to be hosting the Olympics then
