I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I've never finished Final Fantasy IX. I don't know what it is about the game, but I don't enjoy it as much as I do VII and VIII..

I've attempting running through it twice now, and both times I've reached disc 3 at the point where you finish the card tournament. I just seem to completely lose interest after that..

Same here. However on my latest playthrough I have full intention of finishing it but I've now run ito a slight problem.
It seems that when certain enemys or characters use certain attacks the game fails to load or takes to long to load the attack. I've managed to reach Ipsens castle on Disc 3 (to the point where you go back in for Amarent) but now its just starting to take the piss abit and finding it highly annoying.

But yeah, IX does seem to be the most boring of all Playstation era FF's.

I do not know why, but I truly despise FFIX. There is something about it which I cannot explain, but I just do not like it at all. I'm surprised I actually played it a second time....

I can see why people don't like it. Half the time I loathed the game for all it's worth. But after finishing it, I look back and half the time I still hate it, but the other half I like it. I think the ending with the "extended" part made it about 50% better for some reason. I thought the play thing at the end, which was similar to the beginning, was pretty cool. But will I play it ever again? Well, I don't know if it was "that" good.:)

Oh come on! It wasn`t bad at all I mean just cuz it isn`t FFVII or VIII doesn`t mean that it`s not good! It`s just how a fantasy game is supposed to be!

I personally loved IX. I thoroughly enjoyed playing all 4 disc's.

I loved FFIX. The characters and the storyline were rich and appealling. The settings, music and flow enhanced it.

And frankly, I am so sick of the brooding, asshole heroes.

Also, the chocobo upgrading system was so much better. Dear god. I lost so much gil on those damned inbred things in 7. X_X

I may try and run through it again sometime and actually attempt to finish it, but right now I've just started Shadow Hearts (which isn't a touch on any FF game). I felt that the characters lacked any real depth to them though..

However, I'm relieved to hear that there are others out there that share similar views.

It's not a really big deal--it's like with anything--you either like it or you don't. I personally found the elements of FFIX to be warm and comforting, whereas FFVII and VIII were a little too cold and futuristic for my liking.

The only decent thing about IX really was the ability system, and even then its not exactly that great and the Battle system is incredibly slow too.

Don't get me wrong, good little game just blatenly the worst of the 32-Bit era Final Fantasys.

Not at all. It gives you a worth-while story with no plotholes supported by great characters that aren't based on stereotypes (hello Barret=Mr. T and Cloud is EMO) with the addition of great musical renditions. It's a masterpiece.

Yeah, I have to agree. FFIX remains the only one in the series I can stand playing, for some undefineable reason the others bore me senseless.

Also, from an aesthetic point of view, It seems like the designers really poured themselves into making a rich, decorative style in all the elements of the world, far removed from the whole "put more metal in it, now make it rusty" ideology in VII and VIII

FF IX is my fave, I can only replay this game. The others are boring the second time round. And the characters aren't annoying like Rikku and Selphie. And the game seems to be good in all aspects (Story, gameplay, music and graphics).

I'm currently playing through the game a second time. I want to see the extended ending of the game. I'm on Disc 4 and about to fight Necron. He's so annoying.

The extended version? It's pathetic, you mean the one with Cinna's Hammer, right?

I cannot stand this game. The characters annoyed me, the plot line was too ... euch ... for me, Kuja, I hated and without a good villian, there's no story.

Each character was as bad as the next to me. I hated it. What's with the random hippo's and chickens?

Anyhow, that's my opinion, summarised.

you just didn`t like it because it was different face it your like everybody else who can`t stand it because it`s not like FFVIII or VII it just gets me so mad that people don`t give this game a chance and are ignorant like that but TSG if you finished the game I have nothing against you because you actually took the time to play through it and not bitch about how it`s not like 8 or 7

ff 9's ending

:) You know this was my least favorite of all the final fantasy signature games and can get tedius but really you are missing out ifyou dont watch the end of every final fantasy game every ending is unique so its up to you to finish it.......its really not that hard to finish so get at it

I played FFIX but when I get to disc 2 at i think it's Iifa or Lifa tree anyways, when i get in I fight this monster that looks like a tree and the game always stops there although it's not a copy ='( so I tried escapeing but still at the next battle it comes and again the game just stops, did anyone have this problem? so I though of buying a copy because it's a waste of money to by another one ='( but I couldn't find any because it was a 4 disces game, so i can't really judge the game but until this part it's not that bad, but whenever my brother sees me trying to play it he always says go buy FFVIII it's much better then FFIX..
