So what do you guys find you generally like better? When the songs are censored (beeps, blanks or simple lyric edit) or when they leave everything in there?

I always love the uncensored much, much more. It feels a lot more honest and aggressive, which I think adds character.

To be honest, I don't see the point of censoring songs. If that kind of language offends you, that's fair enough, but why listen to the song in the first place at all? If the word is in the song, it has a purpose, and if you disagree with it, why listen to it? Censoring it doesn't change the fact that it is supposed to be there, and beeps and blanks just disrupt the song.

That said, I think edited versions of songs can still be fantastic. brentalfloss' "with lyrics" songs sound fantastic both censored and uncensored. I suppose a good artist can convey their message with many different words, and doesn't have to rely on offensive language to do it. Sometimes that is the simple, most straightforward way of conveying a message, but a little subtlety through wordplay doesn't go amiss sometimes either.
