A 10-year-old US boy trick-or-treating on Halloween has pulled a gun on a woman after she joked about taking his lollies.

The South Carolina boy was out on Monday evening with about 10 other children when the 28-year-old victim jokingly suggested she wanted to steal his candy.

The boy then produced a 9mm handgun and said: "No you're not, bitch," the Augusta Chronicle reported.

Local police lieutenant David Turno said the gun was not loaded at the time, though the boy had a clip of bullets in his possession.

The boy's brother, also 10, was also armed at the time of the assault.
The two had taken the firearms from their grandfather without permission, Lt. Turno said.

Neither of the boys were charged.

WTF?

I can't believe how horrible some kids can be.

Some are so sweet and naive and then you get these little shits who are already heading down the road to loserville. <_<

Why on earth do parents/grandparents leave their guns unlocked? Seriously, how many news reports about this sort of thing do you have to see before realising that you should have weapons locked away at all times, especially if you have kids in the house?

It really depends on how the kids are brought up as well. I know if I saw a gun lying around the house as a kid that I would not take it and use it the way these two did on a defenseless woman.

I really don't know what's worse: that the kid actually had bullets with him or that neither boys were charged. I know their only ten years old, but still I don't think the law system should be bended for anybody, let alone these two punk-ass kids. They probably would have only got a few weeks, if that as the maximum, but still it's just stupid that they go with nothing, not even a criminal record.

fucking bullshit. :hmph:

I think it's ridiculous that they got off the hook as well.

It didn't say what the reason was for them not being charged but obviously it's because of their age. I don't think that age should really count in this situation, as it seems they set out with the intent of using the gun considering they had bullets and all.

They should at the very least be sent to a detention centre or whatever they have over there to straighten them out. Obviously the parents aren't doing a very good job. <_< Who lets their kids go out after dark at the age of 10? Parents who don't really care by the sounds of it.

Yeah agreed, Kandy. I think these two kids are one of those kids that have parents that are either abusive or just don't give a fuck about them. In that sense, then I guess it's only natural that they do crap like this. But what irks me to no tomorrow is the fact that they didn't even get a dosage of community service. AT LEAST they could've gotten a night in jail. :hmph:

Maybe the cops were just too lazy to actually go through the charges. those lazy piggies. :wacky:

Society is going to hell in a hand-cart etc.

I doubt the children had any intention of using the gun to kill some home boys, if they had bullets they most likely intended to shoot tin cans. Or whatever insipid hobbies murkhans enjoy. I doubt the children really understood that guns can kill, I am sure they know what guns are. At that age though, I doubt they really understand the implications of it. Yes the gun should have been locked up, but people forget things now and then. I occasionally forget to lock the front door when I leave the house, so I guess my parents must be alocholic racists who hate me

I am appalled that two ten years olds were not formally charged, or at least beaten with paddles. What is the world coming to?
