Hey Nephry here's the most poisonous spider in the world, called the Brazilian Wandering Spider.

Btw, I thought Funnel Web spider was the most poisonous spider in the world. I won't include a picture because it scares the crap out of me.

They look about as terrifying as...an ant. I mean, I guess they're bigger but still...I'm not seeing what makes them scarier than any other bug.

I have severe arachnophobia though I am well aware that it's an irrational fear, and I've gotten to the point now where I can at least look at spider pics long enough to post them to torture others with them

Fair enough.

Arachnids are my favorite little creepers though, really just spiders. They eat other bugs, or more specifically the lady bugs that like to gather in light bulbs at my house to fry.

I wish I didn't click that link that made me make a horrified squeak noise. There is just no need for spiders. Too many eyes and legs if you ask me. I woke up one morning only to be face to face with one of the little fuckers. I have never jumped out of bed (and screamed so loudly) in my entire life. Ugly little fuckers I had goosebumps whilst googling house spiders

I find them in the bath alot aswel. Since living on my own im not nowhere near as scared of them as I used to be because I have to tackle them myself. I still scream like a loon if they catch me off guard tho

I can look at 'em long enough to determine that there's a spider staring at me. That's about it for me.

My arachnophobia is bad to the point that it affects my daily life at times. I can't handle any sort of spider...

That second spider shown on this thread sent a series of chills down my spine. I saw it yesterday and still can't get it out of my head. Fucking spiders.

You know I saw that movie when I was like 10 or less, and STILL I get paranoid around the toilet or in the shower that spiders are going to come pouring out and attack me. Goddamn movie.

I'm sure you've all learned about the "flight or fight" instinct at some point in school. Well I have both when it comes to spiders. My first instinct is to freak out and run away (or flail my arms and yell if one lands on me or if I walk into a cobweb), then immediately run back and kill the bugger for scaring me.

Oh, and this thread is now a spider thread so we can all learn to overcome our fear I'll show you guys some of the spiders that infest the area I live in.

Jumping Spider. These things amuse me more than anything else, they're tiny, fuzzy, run around in funny ways...and hop.

Crab Spider. Again, they just amuse me since they're tiny and run like crabs.

Brown Recluse Spider. Tons of these in TN. And they can kill you. Not fun.

Argiope aurantia (garden spider). I HATE these things with a passion. Not deadly and get rid of plenty of bugs, but dear sweet Jesus I freak out when I see them. And we get TONS of them in the summer in my yard. Did I mention they're huge? They can be 1 1/2 - 2 inches in the body, 3 inches if you count the legs.

And now my skin is crawling. I'm done.

That thing is anything but amusing. I had one of those hanging out in my sideview mirror on my car once. I actually got up the nerve to knock it off my car when I got to work but when I was leaving for the day, I saw that it was back. *shudder*

I remember a nightmare I once had not too long ago. I was walking into a shot that had double doors and when I walked through the first set of doors a ton of spiders fell all over me. I woke up in a sweat and it still felt like there were spiders all over me.

Here's the biggest spider in the world, the bird eating tarantula. It's leg span can make them be over a foot long.

We have brown recluses down here, but I don't see them that much. Given all the hubbub about them, rumors or not, I tend to take a step back when I see when. I've always thought those big garden spiders were cool looking, we had one make a web that extended for like, 3 feet or more in our front yard. It got dead because it was in the way of the grass cutting pathway, but it was still the biggest spiderweb I've ever seen up close.

We do get loads of black widows here, when I was littler I saw one almost as big as hand, which wasn't that much smaller than it is now. I got a stick and pocked it into an ant nest. I used to like watching ants eat other bugs.

The Brown Recluse spider sucks... I got bit by one once... not fun at all. The poison eats the flesh so everything under the first few layers of skin for about a 5 inch radius is gone after they bite you. You have to stuff the wound with random crap so it doesn't get infected... poison sucks ass.

You ever get those dreams where you feel like you're falling then wake up all freaked out? Occasionally when I get those, when I fall and see the floor it's just blanketed in a swarming mass of spiders. I always wake up RIGHT before I hit them and dear lord, do those dreams terrify me.

Actually I once had a dream that a spider had made its way onto my bed and was crawling along my pillow toward my head. I woke up, threw the covers off and jumped out of bed to check it for spiders xD

Oh, we also have a variation of these orb weavers around here:

Ours are brown, with pink, almost translucent legs. Quite disgusting. If you manage to hit one with a pinecone, it makes a very loud "THWACK" sound.

I have a grandfather that's been bit by a brown recluse and a black widow. Like, within the same year. Bastard still doesn't have an ounce of fear for the little crawlies.

I'm not afraid of them. I went to Ohio once and on the way during the summer it was like 8-legged migration. Tarantulas were pouring across the street. There must have been 20,000 of them. I was in my dads car and they all just ran by... It took about 45 minutes for them all to pass... scared the shit outta me.
