Too many weapons?

Yiazmat

I thought Maces were useless. I used Staves sometimes for my mages but I didn't use Rod's.

Rods are interesting to me, a weapon that you equip to your caster? It's not something I would use under normal circumstances, but for situations like fighting the Hell Wyrm or Yiazmat they can become useful.

Yeah, rods are pretty interesting, but I do the opposite and don't equip them in boss battles lol. :P

Anyone ever tried fighting open-fist? No weapons?

I tried it on weaker enimies and on semi-challenging battles. =). It's actually kinda cool because you have the option of a fist fighter. lol.

Yeah, true monk style. xD

There's also that one augment that increases your fighting open-fist potential with strength. o.o
Actually, I ought to try this and see how it goes. Mind, that thing when you first rescue Basch from the Nalbina Dungeon kinda already gives you a feeling lol.

Oh, right. I forgot he had no weapons when you first rescued him. haha. He was veryyy skinny and frail looking as well. =/.

Staves are more useful than rods in the yiazmat battle. There is a monk job in the new FF12 international which probably means you fight open handed ^_^

For mine magic users I equiped Ninja Swords (not Katanas, Ninja Swords) cause they also increase wielders Magic and can be used for attacking.

Too many? Lord no. I consider it a shame that not more FFs don't have similar variety; being stuck with a select few types was far too restricting.

As thought I. It was so many to choose from, which is great. I sometimes dislike being limited to one weapon.

I hated FFX's system of weapons because alot of them Looked the SAME even when they had different attributes.

Yeah its nice to have different weapons, all the different styles etc.
I particularly loved the samurai swords and the bows, and how with each different weapons the characters would attack in different ways :-)

Some of them were pretty pointless though..

Nah, usually it’s always the opposite of there not being enough, in my opinion. However, given the large scale and setting of this game, I thought the amount of available weapons were pretty normal, actually.

Well, if this game didn't have a variety of weapons then it would be even worse off then what it kinda is now. I mean...gaining weapons and experimenting is the best part.

Bows are my friend ^_^ Katanas...while i would love to use them, i dont, simply because i like my tank to be able to carry a shield.

Sadly....yes -__-

Definately not! I think it was great having such a wide variety of weapons. I also liked the fact that there was no set weapons for each character so you could just get the licence and use it. I thought that was great.

I love seeing loads of weapons in games. A couple of weapon types in FFXII were totally pointless and I never used them throughout the game but on the overall I tried most of them.

Some of the weapons which are rather pointless to a normal play through are crucial to the more difficult self imposed limitations such as the low level challenge. Measures provide a way to cast magicks you may not have available at certain stages on your party. Guns, Fomalhaut in particular, are unrivaled damage dealers in an LLC. So while every weapon may not have its use in one mode of play they can be useful in others.

I never used staves, poles, hand bombs, measures, mases, ninja swords (like wtf), rods, crossbows etc. I found staves pretty useless because Vaan did great healing for my party even though he was a Paladin of sorts (mix of melee and white magic).
