Too easy?

I got this game for christmas yesterday, and it seems so...easy :| and repetitive.

All I do is tap Vaan / Kytes / Hoverboard girl - tap a monster - and win.

Does the gameplay get more advanced / less dull than this?

Wait, this game's already out? I thought it wasn't going to be released in the UK until February.
 
My parents got it for me when they went to America. Maybe I should have waited till February if it stays as easy and simple as this :|
 
Ah right. I wondered what the HELL was going on there. So you reckon it's too easy? I'll be the judge when I get it. ^_^
 
Yeah I was going to get an import myself. Have you completed it or is it just becoming too dull to continue?

Well it depends on what you would call "dull and easy".

If you call a game that is constantly "point and click and watch" sort of thing - then yeah, the game is easy and very repetitive. I've had the game for a while but I'm finally sticking to a game now and I really like it even though I find it kind of weird at some spots - and yet I'm still learning some things that I should know by now.
 
the games easy if ur just considering the storyline part of it. if u just do that and dnt do any of the sidequests u'll b able to finish it pretty quick. however, if u do the hunts, go after all of the secret espers, go after the ultimate weapons, and so on, it will take u MUCH longer to finish. i got this game when it waz released a year ago in the US and i just finished everything last week.
 
If you need help you should make another thread ^^ Ive seen my friend play it and ive played it a bit (like 10 min of it) and it seemed really easy at first but as you get farther into the game i think it gets harder.
 
I say it has gotten quite difficult at the point Im at. Im on Ch 8, and they are mopping the floor with me on the mission that you have to fight Zodiark. My peeps are all lvl 44-48 too. Need better weapons I guess, and a couple more levels.
 
Im only on chapter 3 and Im getting my arse kicked everytime. Trying to rescue those stupid bloog Argyls or whatever they are and either I die, or they do. Personally Id just let them all die if it meant I could complete the effing mission >_<
 
hehe, just lvl up a time or 2 with aa couple of your guys, maybe see if there are any weapons you can buy ( is your shop open yet?--i dont remember), and work on your strategy. try and buffer your guys with your espers by touching your character's icon and dragging it down. this should give you a sub screen with, say for example, Kytes and the espers you haVE relegated to him. Then, click the espers and make them walk in front of your char. do this for all, but your healers, which you should keep BEHIND the rest of the espers AND your characters. do this selection process for all your characters , and use Kytes to hit the baddies long range. once you haver them reeling, then bring in your melee guys and mop them up. hope that helps! Too easy? O_O There's been a fair few missions where I've just wanted to rip my hair out because I was so close to completion ... and I lost.

I'm currently on Chapter 8-4, where you have to first fight Chaos, and then the Judge of Wings in the Feol Warren. So far I've died every time. I can kill Chaos easily ... but JoW pwns me >_< I miss linking my Quickenings together for uber damage :(

I think it might be because the JoW is level 50 ... and I'm about level 31-36 ... I may need to level up a bit.


Other than that ... yeah, I can say it's fairly easy. I mean, there's a save point after every mission and at the start before you start one. The key too success is using the Varhi correctly (I refuse to call them Espers). If you have a level III Varhi ... you usually win XD My favourites are Ifrit and Leviathan.
 
It really depends on whether you want to level up or not. I forgot what level I was for that stage, but it took me 4 tries to beat chaos and JoW. you just have to be sure to summon the right yarhi to fight her. There are side missions which I have found close to impossible to beat since lvl III yarhi keep coming at you non-stop and you don't have time to recover.
 
I don't remember which lvl I was when I beat it, but I found the game a little easy. There were a few stages that were difficult. I tried to get 100%, but it was hard...not only must you complete all mission (ALL missions), but you must craft ALL weapons and complete the pirate log. I got upset after awhile and sold it >_<
 
The only hard thing about this game is, getting from point a to b can take some time, so you have to have patience.

the game itself requires very little strategy, if you have 3 strong characters and just hack away during the entire game and sometimes use magic, you'll beat it easily.
 
I managed to get past that stupid argyl mission (yes I still can't spell it) then got stuck straight after tying to get vaan inside the temple on his own. He kept getting immobilised (or whatever it is) It was making me so angry because I kept failing until I suddenly realised that Tomaj sells an accessory so you're invulnerable to it.(dint I feel stupid) And whaddaya know, I did it first time lol

Im actually finding this game quite challenging so far. I think maybe Im getting thick in my old age :wacky:
