Tokyo Xanadu’s New Character Looks Like Towa From Trails of Cold Steel

Okay, the above is an image of Towa Herschel from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, but this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation says that Tokyo Xanadu’s newest character looks like her, and is also named Towa. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

Towa Kokonoe:

Towa is Kou’s cousin, and a new second year teacher of Morimiya High School in charge of math and data processing. In addition to being in charge of students, she also does work as a committee counselor.

During the weekends, she goes as a shrine maiden to help her grandfather at the Kokonoe Shrine, and teaches a Kokonoe style jujitsu at the dojo. She calls her cousin “Kou-kun” but sticks with “Tokisawa-kun” at school, but she occasionally lets it slip, and gets teased for it. She’s a bit worried about Kou and his part-time job.

Towa Kokonoe shares a name and looks as Towa Herschel from Trails of Cold Steel, but both games take place in different worlds, so there are no connections between the two characters.

Sosuke Kokonoe: the Shinto priest of the Kokonoe Shrine. He can be strict, but he’s actually a big-hearted character, and can be playful at times. He’s the head of the Kokonoe style jujitsu, and trained Kou in the ways of the martial art. The Kokonoe style and Ikushima (Sora’s family) style have had their history since the past, and Sora even took Kokonoe style lessons at one point.

Goro Saeki: a 28-year-old substitute English teacher with glasses, who is popular with the girls. He’s envied by male students, but they eventually end up trusting him because of his friendly nature. He enjoys mountain climbing, and visiting historic landmarks on his days off.

Tokyo Xanadu will release in Japan on September 30, 2015 for PlayStation Vita.

Tokyo Xanadu’s New Character Rem Is A Mysterious Girl Who Wanders The Other World

Falcom recently introduced the newest character for their upcoming PlayStation Vita RPG, Tokyo Xanadu. We now have details on her, along with a look at the city of Morimiya in the game.

Rem (CV: MAi Kadowaki):

Rem is a mysterious character that is seen calmly wandering around in the Other World. She has some androgynous features, but her actual nationality, gender, age, or if she’s even human, all remain unknown.

One day, she appears in front of Kou, who wandered into the Other World. She helps him discover his Soul Device, after deeming him as a qualified person. She helps Kou in other ways, but also shows up just to watch him, so her purpose remains unknown. She also seems to know about something called “Xanadu”.

The “Morimiya station” is found in the middle of the city. It’s an access point of Morimiya City, bustling with people commuting and getting around town day and night. The red arches shown in the above image is a symbol of the area, and it’s a popular spot where people meet up.

Monorails, busses, trains, are some of the transportation they have going on in the area.

“Star Camera” is a major national electronics retailer chain. They sell everything from Xiphones to video games and CDs.

The “Morimiya Shopping District” is a community-based shipping district that has a bit of an older vibe to it, unlike the busier parts of Morimiya. This is where you’ll find your everyday stores like the vegetable shop, butcher’s shop, hardware store, and sporting shop. There are all kinds of stores in this area, where you can find all of your daily needs in one trip.

Kou’s friend Ryota ‘s family run a greengrocer here. They also have another shop near Kou and his childhood friend Shiori’s home.

Tokyo Xanadu will release in Japan on September 30, 2015 for PlayStation Vita.

I really, really hope this game gets a release in the west. Not only does the Vita desperately need it over here, it sounds like a really great title! Here's hoping that XSEED localization rumor turns out to be true.

Tokyo Xanadu Has Its Own Version Of Social Links

We’ve recently seen some gameplay footage of Tokyo Xanadu that takes place in the “Other World,” but the latest update by 4Gamer shows us more of what happens when you’re exploring the game’s real world, and how Kou will build upon his relationships with other characters.

Tomoaki Mikuriya (CV: Hisayoshi Suganuma)

Age: 29

Tomoaki is a narcissistic and self-conscious man who was transferred to Morimiya City, as the heir son to the Mikuriya Group, as a candidate for an executive position for the Zodiac organization.

The Mikuriya company is not named as the 12 Zodiac companies, but as a group under the banner of the organization, the prominence and leadership of Tomoaki led him to become one of the candidates for the executive position.

There’s been talks in the Mikuriya for a political marriage between Tomoaki and the successor candidate of the Hokuto group, Mitsuki.

Morimaru is a popular mascot character of Morimiya City. He’s a public relations ambassador for the city, and also acts as an adivisor for the Mitama Udo Farmers’ association. He also has some pretty passionate fans.

They say that he’s a fairy that has protected Morimiya City since the older days, but with his topknot hairstyle, way he dresses, and how he says “gozaru,” people seem to only see a samurai’s image in him.

Morimaru is actually a big fan of the idol group called SPiKA, and is excited to have their concert that will be held in Morimiya City.

In Tokyo Xanadu, you’ll have events called “Bonding Episodes,” which you’ll get to check out during your free exploration time in the real world. These happen once you use an item called “Relationship Fragments” that are acquired through the main story or while exploring.

These events will show you more about the characters, and will also increase their Soul levels. In Asuka’s episode, she’s shown a little about Kou’s careless actions. She seems to have learned something about Kou from her classmate Shiori…

Shio’s episode show him doing what he does best—taking out delinquents. He reveals a certain something to Kou…

Towa is Kou’s cousin and also his homeroom teacher. When she’s not teaching, she helps out as a shrine maiden at her family shrine during the weekend. How will she react when Kou goes to visit the shrine?

Tokyo Xanadu will release in Japan on September 30, 2015 for PlayStation Vita.

Is Tokyo Xanadu’s Mysterious Knight In White A Friend Or Foe?

We’ve learned a lot about many Tokyo Xanadu characters thus far, but the latest one that simply goes by “The One in White” is shrouded in mystery. 4Gamer shares a first look at this mysterious new character, along with some screenshots of the game’s opening video.

tokyoxanadu_1507232.jpg

Not much is known about The One in White, but he’s said to be part of an army called the “Chronos Orden” of the Church of Holy Spirit.

He’s been actively going around Morimiya city with the purpose of “sealing the Other World.”

He’s not there to lend Kou, the “qualified ones,” a hand in exploring the Other World, and he seems to have a few hostile words to share with the heroes, but his real intention still remains a mystery.

Tokyo Xanadu will release in Japan on September 30, 2015 PlayStation Vita.
