Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles hits the cinemas on 23rd March! Discuss everything here including your thoughts, reviews and so on.

I can't wait to see this movie! I saw TMNT when I was a kid and now I can't wait to see it as a feature film (again).

I used to love the cartoon like ages ago, and I have the first 3 movies, I've just always been a fan, and I can't wait to see this movie, but I'll most likely have to wait till it comes on on DVD because I never see movies in theaters, mainly because I always end up going alone, and movies are just way to expensive there for me.

I just got back from seeing this movie with a group of my friends, and we had a blast. Now, I'm 22, and my of my friends are around the same age, so we really grew up on TMNT. The movies all came out when we were 6-10 years old, so there was real nostalgia there.

That said, as a movie, TMNT is pretty bad. But yes, no one is going to see it as a movie, they're all going to see it for nostalgias sake like me and my friends. The plot is totally random and none of the plot points are really explained at all.
Such as (spoiler)
When the general put some random blinking thing on the stone statues and they came to life. Whaa?
The way the turtles are introduced is so cheesy. The character interaction is just silly in most places. BUT YEAH, ITS A MOVIE ABOUT TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES.

If you're like me and you grew up on it, see it and you'll laugh and have a great time thinking how silly you are for still loving the turtles. If you're expecting a critically acclaimed broadway musical, stay home.

i just got done watching the movie with my friends and it was pretty good. i grew up on tmnt so i watched for the sack of the fact that i am still a fan of them. it was good but like dalton said there were soemthings that were just like what? that was the only bad part about the movie but the rest was good

I love this film so much, so, here's a copy of my topic and posts on Nexus Beach (and my Live Journal):

Awesome!!

I loved this movie! I was so excited when I heard about this, and the more clips I saw; the more and more excited I got. And when I finally got to see this in the cinema, I was sooo excited I could hardly sit still!!

I was a little worried, coz I'm a big TMNT fan and I couldn't stand it if I'd been disppointed. Though my main concern was for Mikey as he's always been my favourite and I didn't want them to screw him up somehow.

To my joy: he's better than ever!!

The Turtles look great! And they move brilliantly too! And the movie itself had a great balance of darkness and lightness, and it felt comic-bookie with all the little jokey comments thrown-in at every turn! Haha!!

I loved every second of this and I really hope they go ahead and make that sequal!

The only thing they could have really done better was giving Mikey and Donnie more screen-time. I was disappointed to discover the scenes they cut-out that involved these two.

All-in-all; I loved this film. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love this film. ^^;

I loved the soundtrack to this movie too. Totally awesome!!

One of my favourite scenes is of Mikey skateboarding his way home. I just love it!!

Awesome Turtle, awesome moves, and awesome song!!

I want the sequal, and I wan' it now!!

Something I wanted to add (coz I don't think I said this yet) is that I think the CG itself is near perfect. I say near because the humans seemed to lack a little when it came to their skin.

What I mean is, on the Turtles, you could see veins (yuk), the skin moving with their expressions, etc. But the humans seemed to lack alot of that.

But I think CG is definatly the way forward for our favourite mutants. They've never looked better and I'm also sooo glad they gave them pupils (and eye colour).

Yeah, the humans seemed kind of lackluster compared to the Turtles, huh...I definitely prefer this version over the stupid old guys-in-suits version (anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a fog-riddled nostalgic mess that they need to get out of FAST!). The camera moves they were able to pull off thanks to the CG world was really great. The Raph & Leo fight was very cool. The one thing I felt was off was in the end, it seemed like April ended up using her sword more than the turtles actually used their weapons...>_>

Nothing will ever touch the original comic books because they've been turned into comic-booky Adam West Batman-esk heroes for kids. It's a shame, but w/e, this is good enough & I too hope they make a sequel.

-Threads Merged-

I've never actually seen this movie yet. In fact, I wasn't aware of it until someone mentioned it to me about a month or two ago. >.>

I've always been a fan of TMNT ever since I was a kid. Saw the cartoons and one of the movie back then, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. I'll definitely have to check this movie out soon.

Huh, I didn't know there was a thread on this. I loved TMNT. It closely resembled the 2003 cartoon series that was on Fox Kids or w/e (which was also damn good, and it followed the Eastman and Laird comics MUCH more closely than the old movies and cartoon).

I was a little wary of the CGI at first, because everyone is using it so much these days I'm getting sick of it, but it suited the movie pretty well. And while it lacks some of the nostalgic charm the old movies do, it's a worthy entry into the Ninja Turtles franchise and is definitely worth seeing/buying.

You STILL haven't seen it? Jesus christ woman, go make your husband buy it :gasp:

I did search for a topic on this before I attempted to make my own, but I didn't see a topic (same with the Transformers one). o_O; Weirdness.

I can't believe people haven't seen this yet!! I saw it as soon as it came out, and several times after, and got the DVD as soon as that came out as well. Hehe!! I'm not obsessed... honest. >_>;

I loved the first two live-action movies and I own those as well. I enjoyed them way back when they first came out, and I still enjoy them now. Hehehe!!

I can't wait for the sequel!!

Wow, don't get many newbies with sense enough to do that, kudos. Dunno why you didn't find results though. I blame vBulletin.

I still have yet to buy Secret of the Ooze, I'm not buying the third one though...that was just... x_x

I wonder what they'll do for a sequel. Shredder is rumored to appear, but I really haven't heard of any developments. Personally I'd love to see a movie about the Fugitoid and the Triceratons, that was always one of my favorite story arcs.

With the review from people on here maybe I should give this movie a second chance. I grew up in love with the Turtles, they were my childhood favorites. Mainly like the old movies for nostalgia I guess But I recently started watching this movie and I couldn't get halfway through before I turned it off...just didn't draw me in like the classic show, or movies. Maybe its just age getting to me though and I've lost my interest of the turtles with age.
