tidus looks like chappu?

No, I really don't think that's the case. In the beginning when Lulu and Wakka are outside talking she says "He does look a lot like Chappu. I was surprised too when I first saw him"

And then when Tidus asks Wakka about Chappu Wakka says, "My little brother, Chappu. He looked like you." If you study the picture that I compared Tidus to with Chappu, they really do look somewhat similar.

Yeah that's pretty much it. Nothing to do with personality.
It's a bit hard to see the similarities though if you're playing it through a tiny TV (like I did) but it should be pretty easy to see.
 
I think he looks a lot more like Wakka, I myself can't really see any relation between Chappu and Tidus, but then again I'm not very imaginative.
I think from the cut scenes the only thing that is similar is their personality; apart from that they don't look alike.
 
I think they do look similar. If you look at this artwork from the FFX Scenario Ultimania (yup I have it, I'm a FFX-freak xD) then I think the resemblance is clearer...(apologies for the poor quality! My scanner is a bit crappy)

Plus I reckon Tidus reminded of Lulu and Wakka of Chappu in his mannerisms and personality as well...sometimes people can only look vaguely alike but you can still be reminded of someone by the way the person acts, moves, things like that...
And they were kinda the same height and build too right? =D
 
The trouble is Tidus has 3 different resolutions of models, whereas Chappu's only got one.

If you compare the Tidus low-poly model to Chappu (who's low-poly) the similarity is more obvious. Remember, the highest resolution of Tidus looks Japanese, whereas the next one down looks American, and Yuna is similarly different depending on which of the 3 you're looking at.

A while back I ran a comparison test on Tidus and Chappu, using screencaps of model rips made by a friend. Unfortunately the Tidus model was looking up so the angle isn't quite the same.

The bottom one is the best to use for comparison, because their faces are at exactly the same angle. Their eyes and eyebrows are identical. The difference is the hair (which is superficial), coloring (ditto), and the lower half of Chappu's face is basically Tidus' face made slightly wider.


It's not a perfect resemblance, but at least to me, I can see enough there for Lulu and Wakka to go, "Huh?"</div>

The only thing I figured the two had in common were their eyes. I know it sounds weird because you never really get to see Chappu's eyes but for some reason I just had that feeling about the whole thing.
 
I think the pic Yunapalooza has of Chappu looks quite similar to Tidus when I look at it, is it just me?
 
Yeah, the concept art sketch for Chappu's face is a LOT closer to the concept art for Tidus' face. I hadn't seen that before... neat!

Another grain of info: in compiling a complete script of the game, I discovered that after you go to Guadosalam, if you backtrack aaaaaaaall the way to Luca and stop by the Aurochs' locker room, Keepa says, "You saw Chappu on the Farplane? Kinda looked like you, ya?"

I do NOT know what Wakka was thinking...I do not see any resemblance.
Perhaps maybe in the shape of the eyes but that's all I really see there, maybe he acted like Tidus or something but he doesn't look anything like him o_O;;
 
I see it now thanks to Sayuri. Before hand, I didn't think they looked alike at all.
 
i can sorta see it its hard but i can kinda see it its with those eyes if u look hard enough you can actually see it they look kinda identical but only a little
