Tidus and Jecht (SPOILER)

lets see.... if i remember it correctly.. there was a brief explanation of what farplane can do, that people can see images of people that they want to see inside the farplane. And because tidus and everything in his memory in DZ was from a fayth's dream, it made it possible for tidus to see his mother images, because the source of this images comes from a fayth in spira. (...well that's what i think.....)

Yeah I remember all of that about the Farplane, but what I'm curious about is at the end, it shows Tidus with Auron, Braska and Jecht. I'm curious if since they became more than just dreams that they ended up in the Farplane and since Tidus's mother was a dream of the fayth as well but not really touched by Sin in the way Jecht and Tidus were, if she stayed on the Farplane or if she faded out when the fayth stopped dreaming and did not remain on the Farplane?

what if that wasn't his mom but the template for Tidus mom and she just happened to look lot like Tidus so when he wanted to see her it pulled her up since she llokeed just like her.

Nah, it really was his mom because when Yuna mentioned Jecht he started thinking of his mother and she just appeared before him. The pyreflies react to one's thoughts and Lulu said to call somebody, all you have to do is think about them. So I do believe at that point in the game it was his mom he saw.

Yeah Tidus girl, that was his mom, i'm pretty sure on that note. Maybe that Sin just creates a bridge from reality and Dream, and that Sin can move between those two worlds.

Now how does Tidus stay there, that would be a question, as he didn't really die did he, more like he disappeared, so he shouldn't have gone to the farplane, but now how did he go there and come back in X-2

Yes, Tidus only really came into existence once Auron put him on Sin and Sin then took him to Spira. He became more than just a dream , however he was still remained a dream of the fayth, living and breathing in Spira. He was the dream that made the fayth's dreaming end.
alright you know what it was said in the game that Tidus is a dream but since Tidus and Jecht were touched by sin it made them real in a way when sin was finally destroyed maybe the affects of that were reversed Tidus and Jecht would have never made it into Spira if they weren't touched by sin. As to why Jecht ended up in the farplane i believe that when yu yevon was destroyed the fayth were finally able to rest and the dream zanarkand was gone so all the people in the dream zanarkand could've gone to the farplane. so they never really left in the first place.

i believe what tidus saw in the farplane was her mother "images", and at the end they "tidus and jecht" end up in the farplane. because they were once a dream from spira's fayth, but becoz of sin, they managed to write their own story of existence in spira. i think all the DZ still exsit in farplane if someone would think of it, because that "DZ" vanish as a dream but not from the fayth's memories. :P peace!

Hmmm that does put a few things into perspective, but if the fayth are resting, how does all of DZ end up on the Farplane? I dunno, I can see it since Jecht and Tidus were in Spira and in reality how they would go to the Farplane, but then again, when Sin came to DZ, wasn't all of that destroyed by him? I dunno too many answers bring up more questions lol

umm...maybe the dream DZ didn't really end up in the farplane,, maybe the DZ in the farplane was just tidus and jecht's memories something like that,,, (..hey wait a minute.....) Sin died for sure right!?! And sin was in jecht,,, maybe sin gain everything from jecht, including all his memories, and... i believe sin should be in farplane too,, (my head starts to hurt now..):D

Lets see, only when sin touchs them did they exit DZ and actually come into existance though that doesn't really explain the part about his mother being in the farplane. maybe that DZ really did exist in some way and really came into being in the end as they came in contact with sin.

but you never know that Tidus could be dream of shuyin thats could why they look like each other or they could be twins you never know.or sin could be the hole between DZ and spria

To quote from the FFX-2 Ultimania Omega guide:

**Connection with Tidus?**
The appearance and voice of Shuyin resemble Tidus, but the two are completely different in actuality. Shuyin is a man of the past; he lived 1000 years ago in Zanarkand, the metropolis city of summoners. Tidus, a pyreform, was a resident of its summoned replica, Dream Zanarkand.

Be that as it may, Dream Zanarkand was in fact created with the idea in mind that it be the ideal [representation] of Zanarkand's existance, a wish given form. Since its existance was the model for everything in Dream Zanarkand, this extends to its inhabitants also. When thinking about this with regard to Tidus, one cannot deny the possibility that this [was the case] with his personage and Shuyin. However, most inhabitants of Dream Zanarkand would marry one another and have children, continuing the cycle of life. For this reason, the genes of the dream's inhabitants began to blend in a complicated way, and with these impurities, the duplication of [Shuyin's] personage cannot be certain. Even if it is true that Shuyin was the model for Tidus, this would not mean that their connection is close.

(Ryu Kaze's summary)
[Analysis: This offers us little clarification on the matter, but it's
probably pretty much impossible that Shuyin was the model for Tidus, if only because the Dream Zanarkand version of Shuyin should have been created 1000 years in the past. He should have long since died. It's possible, though, that Tidus is a descendant of Dream Zanarkand's Shuyin. That would actually make a lot of sense.]

The people of Dream Zanarkand are made of pyreflies, so that means they are not alien to Spira (after all, Dream Zanarkand is not apart from Spira, it exists within it). Therefore when they die, they too travel to the Farplane to rest.

What really gets me thinking is whether Tidus really existed in Zanarkand or did he only exist in DZ? meaning that he was never actually a real person.

im a little confused, but isnt there a ending in x-2 where you see tidus live again? the one when they almost crash him with the airship

Well that is true thatough i'm not that sure about that... i would have to say that Tidus somehow came back into being because of the faith of the aeons... though i'm not sure how that relates to everything.

Now DZ was only just a dream... everyone in it didn't really exist and couldn't exist unless something happened, that is why everyone in Spira didn't reallyl know anything of DZ

Now as for Shyuin that couldn'b be possible... as well as that where would be Lenne?

The people of DZ wouldn't really go to the Farplane though there wasn't anyone in Spira to think of anyone in Zanarkand to go to the Farplane to see them there... so that just adds to the confusion

Wow, this is a good topic.

I always thought Dream Zanarkand was an exact replica of the real Zanarkand that existed 1000 years ago. That is, if there's a dream Tidus, there was a real Tidus at some point. That might not be true, but it doesn't really bear any impact on the original argument. Like the guide said, people in DZ reproduce like real people, which is necessary, or else the fayth dream would have to end at the point the real Zanarkand ended. (For example, if "Dream Bevelle" attacked DZ right before Tidus's Blitzball match, the dream would have to end there.) I doubt the fayth would dream up Zanarkand's destruction again, so there have probably been some changes.

Like I said, back to the original question. We've figured out visiting the cliff above the Farplane in Guadosalam isn't like going to the actual Farplane (like Yuna did in FFX-2). Just because Tidus saw an image of his mom in Guadosalam doesn't mean she's actually on the Farplane. However, since Tidus went to a place at the end of the game where we saw Braska (a known-dead resident of Spira in the real world) and Auron (another known-dead resident of Spira in the real world), we can assume Tidus (and Jecht) went to the real Farplane when they "died," or vanished. I assume because they existed in the real Spira and interacted with real people, thus becoming part of their memories, they "existed" enough to go to the Farplane with the other "real" souls departed from Spira.

As far as Tidus's mom is concerned, we never saw her on the real Farplane, and have no proof that she's there. We really don't know. I think the real question here is what exactly defines being "touched by Sin?" We know Jecht and Tidus were; we saw them on the Farplane. However, didn't the other residents of DZ see Sin that night Tidus was taken to Spira? Didn't they feel the destruction of the Sinspawn? Technically, everyone in and around the stadium that night in DZ came in contact with the "real world." I wonder if they "existed" enough because of that to "qualify" for the Farplane when the dream ended. Of course, none of this has any effect on Tidus's mom, as she was dead in DZ before Sin arrived.

you can tell DZ is different than the one 1000 years ago

as at the start of X wheres yunalesca
and if DZ was exactly the same as old Z
Tidus wud've known what a summoner is

I think that by being in thouch with sin tidus && Jecht made a link between DZ and spira
