Does it effect the way that you play games? I think that I'm not really effected by it since I really disliked Final Fantasy XII, and didn't do much with it so I couldn't possibly know the disappointment. But I also don't think that this incident falters my ability to enjoy a game without grabbing a guide. I really only like to grab a guide for a quick answer and a little bit more if I'm stuck on something.

For me, missing a significantly strong piece of equipment in the game really doesn't concern me as long as I can still get through the game, I guess.:neomon:

*Zodiac Spear. Zodiark Esper. ;D

If I'm right in assuming that you want to know if sidequests put us off, really, then not at all. I usually play games for the sake of the plot and the characters, so skipping a sidequest or two doesn't really bother me.

Meh, I like to search every corner of the world map just in case there's a secret place hidden somewhere. Same with extremely rare weapons and items - and that is where sidequests kick in. FFXII was the only game I didn't bother with when it came to sidequests (although I did try), but again, that's because I felt I really had no time for many sidequests anymore.

Recently I've been grabbing guides and playing as I read the guide every now and then. It just seems easier for me that way now, not to mention ideal. Back then, I can afford to play a game, restart in the middle of a plot, and play a second time through. Now I just want to play it once and be done with it. No more restarting - hence, the need for guides. Ya' know, just to get everything taken care of in one play through.
