I seem to have come against a brick wall...

I need more AP so i can kick the dark aeon's arses... but i need underdog's secrets (I think i missed the primer in bevelle so i cant get the 99 from rin) to get Overdrive>>AP so i can get immense AP to kick the dark aeon's arses...

well... specifically need to beat dark ifrit to get to the chimera's (home) so i can bribe them for 15x underdogs secrets...

any tips on getting strong enough to beat the dark aeons?

where should I train?

I'll move this to the help booth, remember in future that all help threads belong there ^_^

And, I think the Omega Ruins are a great place to train personally.

First build up yuna by way of her Aeons, then when she is strong, she can take other party members to beat stronger fiends, do this at the monster arena.

If you clear the Sandstorm in the Bikani Desert, you can face off agsinst Cactuars who will leave you a good amount of Sphere Grid points. The bad part there is that they only drop a good amount of Speed Spheres as opposed to Power, Mana, or Ability Spheres.

It is good for quick AP though.

I did most of my training in the monster arena. And before then in the Omega ruins.

The monster Arenas good coz you can just hack away at stuff and farm items (Dark matter <3) while your at it

I did my training in the Omega ruins, before I knew it Yuna and Auron were top notch and my characters were getting throught the grids like nobody's business! The only problem with the Omega ruins is getting started. If your to low leveled they can rinse you no problem in there. Its a great place to level up for the dark Aeons, though I do recommend going to the battle arena so that you can upgrade your wepons and stuff otherwise you stand no chance against the later aeons.

i used the Omega ruins mostly but i haven't played FFX in a good few months as i have been focusing on Beating FFXII again

Omega Ruins? To beat some of the harder Dark Aeons, you may need to fight the Area Species in Monster Arena.

Aye and you can get all those extra spheres while your there to increase your stats. Im so sick of trying to get the ones for luck -_-

Oh and if you don't have all the creations, I suggest you go on a nice long creature capturing mission, that's pass some time :wacky:

Luck was the hardest to increase. Those Fortune spheres were obtainable by defeating a hard enemy. Dark Valefor and Ifrit don't require much training.

Best way to gain AP? Don Tonberry...

No seriously. Put it this way, you can gain 99 Sphere Levels in a few minutes this way.

Armour Set up should have Auto-Phoenix on each character, or at least 2 characters. Auto-Haste is also a good idea. Have one character (the Attacker) in Stoic overdrive mode, the other two in Comrade mode.

Beat up One-Eye a few times until you have Triple Overdrive weapons with two free slots for each character. In those slots, customise Overdrive -> AP and Triple AP abilities. So that way you are gaining NINE TIMES! the number of AP.

Equip these AP gaining weapons to every character. Next get in battle with Don Tonberry. Have the two Comrade characters do nothing, and the Stoic character attacks. Auto-Phoenix
will revive them after Karma kills them, and all that damage will have gone straight into your AP, multiplied 9 times from the weapon. Karma does a lot of damage, so you can see that really building up your AP.

You don't have to win this fight either, just run away when Don Tonberry gets close so he doesn't use Everyone's Grudge. You will still keep all the AP gained, and you'll notice that the Stoic character should have a whole load of AP, and the other two characters a lot less, but still a lot.
