Ok, so I've been driving for over 10 years now. Maybe it's just me, but it seems that the quality of drivers these days have gone down dramatically. Seriously, everytime I drive on the highway now, I encounter at least 1 aggressive driver that has no consideration for the other drivers. The percentage of tailgating drivers is astronomical now, drivers that change lanes across 2 or more lanes in 1 motion and drivers that take an exit from the left lane seem to occur very often. When I drove to Rhode Island this afternoon, I seriously saw like 3 or 4 near accident incidents. I get really pissed over this because it seems people don't realize that driving can be very dangerous and deadly. And knowing I could get caught up in a really bad accident because someone took aggressive action behind the wheel really angers me.
When I first started driving over 10 years ago, driving was never this bad. I mean, you'll always have aggressive drivers, but the number of aggressive drivers has gone up dramatically. Young drivers text messaging and talking on the phone driving is something I don't like at all, but I'm seeing this with seasoned drivers who aren't on a phone at all, so I won't blame the young drivers this time. It's quiet possible that this is only the case in the area I live in, and maybe not elsewhere in the United States, or even the rest of the world. So my question to you fellow FFF diehards, have you seen a severe quality drop in drivers in the last 10 years (or as long as you've been driving)? If so, please elaborate on your sightings, whether you think it's from younger drivers, older drivers, the way cars are built, or something else.
