While it's a very fun and engaging MMORPG that can stand its own in front of other popular online titles, and is especially fun for fans of the series who either like MMORPGs, or haven't gotten into them yet but have always wanted to- my question is, should FFXI really been the next in the series?

For me, I like the game, a lot. And even though I'm tired of it now, I spent many an hour doing things there. That being said, I would've preffered that there been an actual FFXI title that continued the series, and then they made a spin-off to it that was an online MMORPG.

So what's your opinion? Do you think it's great by just being an online FF, or would you have rather a new FF title, with a spin-off MMORPG attatched or the like?

I never played it much, so i don't really know.

I thought it was interesting in the sense it allowed for team work, which most other Final Fantasy do not allow. An all in all interesting experience. I'm not very sure about the second one though..

But i guess I'm open to that possibility, nonetheless.

I havn't played XI and I know very little about it. But I would have liked to have seen a non MMORPG game set in the world of XI and I would have liked to have seen the online XI as a spinoff to it. Because the idea of paying to play a game after I've bought it annoys me and (if FFXI is anything like other MMORPGs I've played) the idea of playing a game which I technically can't finish seems pointless.

If I had not played FFXI I would've bitched and moaned that I wanted a normal console game. But since I have, I must say I love it and am glad they made it. It is perfect just being online.
