The Paths of Tragedy-RP Discussion Thread

So, Julius. Here is Entas.
I wish to enter him temporary for now.
He might stay as a NPC later, or I might take him out if there.
Either way, If possible, he will be in the battle, against Felldoh.
UNLESS Hera states otherwise.

Note his visor, and the fact that he IS in the mentioned time (medieval).
If he is approved, he will be picking up a weapon during "entry"

Can I please get a response to this.
Since I would need to start the "entry" thing soon if it is approved.

Yeah yeah yeah :P Actually, DKnight, while it is my job to look over the bios and find them to be approvable, it is the RP Master (the person who created, or is in charge of the RP) that decides on whether your bio is acceptable.

Can I please get a response to this.

Patience, young grasshopper. All shall be known in time :wacky:

Hah, if you note, I already got him approved, and HAVE started using him.

though, since I didn't know what "level" Felldoh where in, I had to make it so that Entas could enter any.

So, I am looking forward to this, a RPB (of sorts) against an experienced RP'er.

Problem is if people don't get too happy of having their characters eliminated and start to dodge every attack:rolleyes:

Assuming it's like elimination round, i don't see why in the 1st round you just invent a random character and defeat it on the spot, instead of creating a bio for something that's not even worth the trouble.

well
I entered Entas, for the sole purpose of battling Felldih
as it was a request by Hera.

Entas is a character I made ages ago.
so that is not the case here.

That is if I have not misunderstood you.

I guess you can feel free to make up a dude to fight against, if you wish.

I'm not in the tournament:)

But i think it would be fair if everyone won at least one eliminatory before starting to fight each other.

Perhaps, as Jimmy is not participating in the tourney, he could serve as an objective npc judge. It would then be his responsibility to judge the quality of the posts as opposed to the contents of the posts to determine the winner of a pvp rpb. Thoughts?

I think i can help decide the winner, although it's a mods job check the quality of the post you know...and i don't want to fill in for anyone.:)

But i believe that since fights are supposed not to be until death, and if it takes too long to decide a winner then it should actually be voted by all of us, who put up a better fight and was most dominant.

What i think it could possibly happen is the fact that Rpers start dodging all the attacks just cause they don't want to be eliminated, but if that's controlled then there should not be any problem.

How's this. Each battle, the contenders get a certain number of posts each (say, fifteen, for example). During this thirty post battle, neither contender can do something of 'match deciding' importance, and must try to keep the combat fairly equal. Afterword, a winner is determined by either mod or vote or third-party judge, not according to the combat itself, but the RPing ability of the opponents, such as how well they keep to their character, how much they power-played, etc. After this decision, they get three posts each to have the victor emerge... er... victorious. This will hopefully eliminate the chances of someone whipping their character into God mode, as it would detract from their RP ability 'score.' Thoughts?

30 posts for a battle is kind of too long in my opinion...i think such a long battle should be reserved for the final.

I like the voting idea, although if let's say someone makes an error while attacking (for example lifting his sword up like a maniac and charge forward) then the opponent can clearly take advantage of that situation and eventually defeat the other RPer because he made a mistake. And if somehow the RPer who made the mistake found some crazy way to escape then he would be penalized and the fight would end there.

I think the only one even close to doing something at that level of idiocy is Wylliam, but even he would know better than to walk up to the enemy, turn around, bend over, and slap a sticker on his butt that reads "Insert foot here." As for the thirty posts, it does seem a bit long. Ten posts each, then (twenty total)?

Well that's fine by me...i will be doing commentary as my character will be watching.

Now how do I go about entering the tourney? Guess I'll just head for the inn and take it from there... Curse my lack of activity. :(

Well I posted, if I have made any errors in it let me know and I'll edit it ASAP.

I like the ideas, 20 posts should be enough. So what we need is to arrange the battles and start.
I'll make the list, if anyone wishes to challenge any member please state it now. The list will be added to the first post later.

Battle List:
Julius Argexis-???
Lucius Silverwing-Arthvader (per Arth's request)
Cairn Rosencrant-???
Jake Long-
Hera Ledro-
William-
Skaol-
Zeria Iiyasei-
Felldoh-Entas

*More names need to be added*
