I don't like the boy they picked to play spiderman tbh. I don't think he suits the role and i don't think he suits Emma Stone they look weird together.
I also don't like that they've already remade a fairly newish set of movies.
Having said that though, I do think this movie looks better than Spiderman 1, 2 and 3 combined because they were terrible.
In the animated show Peter Park never was such a nerd, but in the movies they always pedict him as a nerd. Its a shame. he should be a clever intelligent individual with a normal look and not so geeky wuss.
This does look better than the movies with lame ass tobey maguire.
peter parker was a nerd. the whole point is that he was a sort of social outcast who then became a super hero.
unlike toni, i do love andrew garfield. he was excellent in the social network, and even though this is a very different role and very different tone of film, i have faith that he'll do a good job. i'm very happy that it's keeping closer to the true spiderman (i.e. the web canisters and not being able to naturally produce the webbing) this time. i hope they do dr conor well in it. i'm still a bit iffy about him being played by rhys ifans, and the villains were all very impressive in the last set of films i thought
I think Andrew Garfield will do a good job as well He fits the role of Peter Parker much better than Tobey Maguire did. Also Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy This is one of many movies I'll be seeing this year.
Tobey Maguire was a pretty weak actor and not very likeable, he just moaned a lot and got punched in his stupid face. Garfield looks like he will be a much better Peter Parker, they also seem to be drawing much more from the comics. Parker was a social outcast and 'nerd' in the comics, that was the entire point.
By now you’ve probably seen the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man, the start of a rebooted trilogy starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker instead of Tobey Maguire. Which means squeaky voices and emo-Gothic phases are out, and a newer, bolder, faster Spider-Man has arrived.
In Marc Webb’s version, at least based on the trailer below, Spider-Man seems more like a super ninja, with a “spidey sense” that tingles fast enough for him to dodge bullets at close range. Parker is also a bit of a genius now, a trait inherited from his father and introduced here by the Uncle Ben upgrade, Martin Sheen. As a result, Peter solves an equation on a huge chalkboard, Good Will Hunting style, for Dr. Curt Connors (Rhys Ifans), which likely leads to Connors’ mutation into the Lizard. His extra intelligence also explains how a high school teenager was able to invent webslingers. Continue reading...
I'm not too sure why people seem to be making out that the director has come up with these innovative changes. In the comics peter is incredibly intelligent, not exactly Reed Richards/Tony Stark, but up there
